If you've ever had a paratha when you've been out for a curry and it was cooked properly, you'll agree that they are highly delicious and far better than any naan bread or tortilla you've eaten.

I frequent my local chinese supermarket and they just so happen to stock frozen parathas which I buy by the half-dozen.

Tomorrow my girlfriend's family are coming over and i am doing the following:

Chicken marinated in chili, garlic, tumeric, ginger, lemon and salt & pepper

Slow roast pork shoulder, shredded, then seasoned with a chili sauce, powdered crackling (whizzed in mini blender) salt and pepper

Home-made spiced tomato relish (cumin, mustard seed, garlic, dorset naga chili, onion, vinegar, sugar)

Parathas with the idea being to fill them with salad, tomato relish, chicken or pork and fold.

Maris piper roast potatoes as they can't resist them!

Hopefully it'll be good!

Anyone tried them?

The forzen ones were great. I tried to make my own and it was too 'doughy'. You just need a littleoil in a medium-hot pan and they need pressing down in the middle otherwise they lift and don't cook.

I did 13 for a dinner for 6 people and had two frying pans on the go at once.

Try them, well worth it.
