Just cracked open a 2005 Clody Bay Pinot Noir Ive been saving as me and the misses have been together 11 years! Cant believe how good this stuff is! I think its hard to beat the NZ Pinot Noir! Tempted to crack open the Te Koko later as the Savignon Blancs are pretty good too!

I spent a year working in New Zealand, during which time I also set to the task of working through the Kiwi wine. Some amazing pinot noir from Martinborough and also Otago.
Marlborough definitely - some of my favourite wines are Marlboro' Pinot Noir's.

Otago - not so sure. They do nice whites, but I don't think the climate suits red, even Pinot. (We did some wine tasting in Otago and were (a) disappointed and (b) shocked at how much these people wanted to charge for distinctly mediocre wine!
There's a lot of garbage out there - a lot of pretty mediocre wines get caught up in the hype (and are stuipidly overpriced for what they are). Having said that, there are some very, very good Otago Pinots around, regarded as being world class. Has to be the right part of Otago too. Central Otago gets a lot hotter than closer to the coast.
Tin Pot Hut is pretty good!
