Intro to Peace Sells by Megadeth

Nice n Sleazy by The Stranglers

Or, for something a bit more obscure, Welcome to Dying by Onslaught - incorporates a bass solo towards the middle of the song.

I rather admire Chas Chandler playing the bass in the Animals "We gotta get outa this place". George Martin rates Paul Mcartney as the greatest bass player of all time. Certainly it is a real struggle to follow Mcartneys riifs personally when doubling on the bass rather than rhythm guitar on occasion. Personal choice I think there are some magnificent bass riffs in pop music.

That's a great riff.

Lots of Maiden bass lines are fantastic - I'd nominate Aces High for a starter or NotB.

Almost anything by the original three-man line up of Motorhead.

Let's start with 'I'll be your sister':

Tablet link but I assume it'll sort itself out.

I like Marcus Miller very much. If you remember that Skeelo rap hit - I wish, from years ago, it sampled Bernard Wright & here's a good feller covering the original song...if that all makes sense.
