First proper gig I went to was Kiss - 1983, Wembley Arena (Lick it Up Tour). Went with my mate Paul.

Paul moved to the US years ago (Michigan) and has bagged a couple of tickets for the last show of their last tour in Detroit in September so off I will be going.

Now, I know they're seen as a bit of a cartoon act and all that but I rather think Paul Stanley has one of the greatest voices in rock and - well - they're Kiss!

Any other fans round these parts?

Got a bit of a soft spot- Went to the first UK concert in May ‘76 at Free Trade Hall, Manchester.
Front row and nearly suffocated in the dry ice and head nearly blown off by exposions. Guess health and safety wasn’t a big deal then.

Never seen them live but Kiss were a brilliant band, great showmanship along with the music.

Cold Gin is a particular classic.

My first big gig, too. I don't remember much of KISS as I really went to see Iron Maiden who were supporting them. 29th August 1980

Got to love a bit of Kiss but I'd take issue over Paul Stanley's voice. Whilst imho it suits Kiss, I'd hardly describe it as one of the greatest in rock and when I last saw them (2017) it had pretty much gone AWOL altogether.

Always been a fan but saw them last year live for the first time and they were brilliant. Honestly surprised me how good they were.

I was a big fan for years and saw them in around 1987 at the NEC. I've never seen a band who works harder, a real force of nature.

Paul Stanley was an amazing singer and did a great job in the Phantom of the Opera too. His voice is sadly in pretty bad shape now though.

He's been doing some nice lockdown chats lately:

I'm a big fan of "Scooby-Doo! and Kiss: Rock and Roll Mystery" if that counts?

Last tour was great. Near the stage, too hot (pyro) and too loud , must be getting old.

Really , really enjoyed the show. Nice to have an artist as warm up - whole audience sang bo rap prior to the concert.

Was a fan after hearing Alive 2 .
Saw them a few times and they are a great live band .
People who dismiss them are quite narrow minded ,pretty much every American rock guitarist has been influenced by them .
Years ago Us guitar magazine did an anniversary issue interviewing hundreds of famous guitarists and asking the usual who influenced you ,and Ace was mentioned extensively ,in fact only I think EVH ,Hendrix ,page and May got more love .
They are a have a few drinks and forget your troubles kind of band ,like AC/DC ,you know what you will get and they Deliver.

They were the first gig I went to, 1980 at the age of 14. Persuaded the old man to drive me and a mate 250 miles to Wellington NZ. I was a big fan until Unmasked, I think, then discovered other bands.

Never seen them play and I prefer their earlier music rather than their "more recent" music. Funnily enough I was listening to KISS Alive II earlier in the day. There are KISS documentaries on Youtube.

They don't! I like it too. It was in the charts in Italy the early 80s when I saw them in Rome.

They work pretty hard, yeah. Fantastic shows every time I've been (5 or 6, I can't remember exactly)
