I'm reading top bass man Guy Pratt's autobiography at the moment (played with Floyd, Brian Ferry, loads of others). He refers to Bernard Edwards repeatedly as a deity.
He didn't do badly on Like A Prayer, did he? Even if he didn't realise it was his own bass line that made the cut.......Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells

How I could forget this I don't know.

Wow, that brought back some memories. It was my first year at sea, that song was played to death in the crew mess on the BetaMax. Boobage may have played a large part in that.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLiO8txVVK4

On a trip down to American Samoa, there was only one shop on the whole island that took Visa cards in the '80s. I bought 2 items, one was a Tom Cruise 'Top Gun' jacket with all the badges and the other was a cassette tape of Stanley Clarke and Gregory Hines doing bass and tap.

The jacket later was a God-send for my around Oz bike trip.

Couldn't see this mentioned, and you need a good system as there is a lot of low bass and not much lower mid bass, but a classic...
