I used to between the age of 12 and 18, buy university I'd grown out of it...cut my hair and discovered girls, most of it sounds terrible to me these days, except for a few bands like G&R or Chilli Peppers.

yikes

G&R? RHCP?

Christ! You need a blowjob, and by blowjob, the emphasis is on the blow part, to clean your ears out.
And no, I'm NOT offering!!

G&R! Pfft.......

Bit late on this thread, but I've been a big Metal fan for 15 years or so, although I like all sorts of different stuff.

A few favourite albums would be..

Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Death - Individual Thought Patterns
Burzum - Filosofem
Carcass - Necroticism...
Slayer - Reign in Blood
My Dying Bride - Turn Loose the Swans
Bolt Thrower - ...For Victory
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk

..Went to see Emperor in October which is was great.

How did we ever get from Venom being rubbish yet at the same time strangely brilliant, to facepainted irony free Norwegians taking it all a tad too seriously, burning down churches and murdering each other?! Most odd. Funny to see how commercialised Black Metal has become these days, considering the alleged point of it was to be misanthropic and hate everything. The whole thing has become rather daft.

Still (despite being a crusty old fool) listen to metal.

The problem to most I think is the fact that its called metal. My interest stems from being a keen guitarist, but I still love many metal bands, mostly fairly old ones, and the oldies that are still going.

I've been trying to play some of Yngwie Malmsteen for many years! Iron Maiden get a massive thumbs up too.
