you see, i would never in a thousand years even stumble across that!! the fact that you even found it speaks volumes about your level of fu.ckedup-ness in terms of musical tastes!!! ha!!!

I am really pleased Winterfylleth have been announced for Bloodstock again. I hope they finish their set with this (again..).

Winterfylleth - Defending The Realm

..If you want to skip the growled vocals: Great ending

Used to listen to it way back when and it can serve a purpose, but it is pretty silly. And mostly German. Make of that what you will. If you want more weirdness, look at "Pimps of Gore" by Gut. Anything described as "fetish porno cyber grind" is worth investigating, if only so you know to avoid it in future.

How about some Vomit Remnants

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrdJYgDQdnw

More into Nu metal myself. Disturbed, Creed, System of a down, Hoobastank through to Papa Roach, Fallout Boy, Linkin Park

Fairly new to it all really. Introduced by the ex biggrin

I'm not really into Brutal DM/Gore Grind but that song on its own was listenable.

However, it has reminded me of the first Necrophagist album which while not quite comparable it is about the closest I get to in terms of 'modern' Brutal stuff.

Necrophagist - Mutilate the Stillborn

The whole album is enjoyable, sounded very fresh and different to me when I first heard it, and at that time Necrophagist was just one guy.

Another key thing to note, they could actually release albums then. I don't think we will ever hear the follow up to Epitaph - they've waited too long, people have moved on and the weight of expectation has become too much. Maybe one day they will release it and blow us all away again, but I stopped holding my breath years ago.

Hmmmm, I like the sound of that challenge. I'll have to transcribe it this week, no way I could learn that by ear!

I'm the same in that I can only do a bit of the ultra-technical stuff, but then we've already had that debate in this thread. Depending on how exactly you want to define "goregrind" however, depends on whether I like it or not. I'd go for "anything influenced by Symphonies of Sickness" personally, so Exhumed and General Surgery more than suffice smile

I much prefer the above to the ultra-technical stuff, as it's that much nastier.

I can't read music so i'm screwed anyways - even if I could nail the initial pattern I'd be a happy boy (besides it took Tomas Haake 6 months to learn to play it!!...).

There is a tab of it on Drummerworld.com just so's you know.

Few more bands indulging in all out Carcass worship :-

Regurgitate
Squash Bowels
Dead Infection
Pathologist|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMUl7eW...
Impaled

Some sails a bit too close to the mothership in the sense there's more than a few actual Carcass riffs in there, but it's still good stuff.

Oh right, half the reason I like to transcribe things is it tends to help the pattern sit in my mind clearer. I didn't realise it took him 6 months either. Hopefully with a bit of help from one of my teachers I can do it in 5, well I think that's the goal I want to set now I know he did it in 6 haha.

I believe the way they write is to programme everything then figure out how to play it - Bleed took Tomas as long to figure out as the entire rest of the album.

There's a few vids on YouTube of guys playing along to it (and SickDrummer.com ran a competition for anyone who could play it).

I just think it's the most awe-inspring piece of drumming so if you can nail it then you have some very serious chops! smile

Cheers for the link that's helpful. Spoke to one of my tutors today, turns out he's got the whole thing transcribed/learnt the song already as he had to do it for Rhythm Mag so will be getting his help.

Today I have been rinsing Gojira, particularly this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6qRFb2jisg
