^^ good choices!

for all the other Motorheadbangers, this is well worth a look! www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8UIPiEzESs

the classic line up (Fast Eddie, Philthy Animal and Lemmy) back together after 20+ years doing an instrumental jam of "The chase Is Better Than The Catch"
turn it up!

Bit more ND, this time the "classic" (!) line up. Think this was from the Arena documentary with them and Slayer.

Some more Sunday evening grindcore...

Used to love this sort of stuff. Still don't think anyone has bettered NDs Peel Sessions for sheer energy and extremity.

Probably the 80´s wild days of heavy metal are gone...the heavy band image has changed a great deal...no more drugs and wild parties...

They do appear to have a "dynamite sound". There`s just one thing though.......

I think they could do with a little more cowbell.

My all time favourite metal band (and Album) are Sabbat - History Of A Time To Come.

They were brummies i believe. Anyone remember them?

yes

Not brummies though - well not all of them. Andy Sneap is a mate of mine and he's a Derbyshire lad.

Anyone got Machine Head's new album "The Blackening" yet?

It's a f'king monster. evil

Heavier, denser guitar sound and, dare I say, is definitely up there with Burn My Eyes and The More Things Change. Maybe even better, IMHO.

I remember being about 8 or 10 picking up a tape of theirs, I think it was that album, I just remember a red cover with a tree or something on it.
Really loved it.
Wonder where the tape is now !

Pity the passing! The full on metal years in the eighties were bloody funny, best times ever. Seeing pics that Karen put up were funny, I've got loads like that with mates etc and the Kerrang / Metal Hammer wall of fame!!!

Buggar it going to have to dig the music out for the rest of the afternoon!

Yep - I've got it.
It's great music and it's got true moments of machine head genius... BUT... it's not The More Things Change. For me TMTC was even better than Burn My Eyes..
The riffs on TMTC are the most heavy (and yet strangley melodic) I've ever heard in metal. Totally uncompromising and IMO Machine Head at their most raw and angry. My favourite bit of music EVER.

Agreed on TMTC being better than BME. yes

As for The Blackening, one thing, it's a million times better than stuff like Burning Red and Supercharger - I thought they'd lost it forever at that point.

Coincidentally, talking of Sabbat, Andy Sneap worked on The More Things Change - I think he mixed it or engineered it.
