I was a little indifferent to the new album at first - I've been a big fan since 1997 so have a slightly rose-tinted view on the band due to my own personal nostalgia. It's really growing on me now, and especially since I have played along with it on my v-drums, I'm really appreciating how well crafted and played the music is. Lyrics are still a little clumsy in places, but then they are brought to life in a different way on viewing the Sonic Highways documentary series. Looking forward to seeing them in June, still mixed feelings that they will now pack Wembley two nights running, bring back the Brixton Academy days!

Hey! Get in the queue!
Just watched the SH LA programme twice back to back with New Orleans. Now busy getting back into Kyuss! But also Joe Walsh was just awesome - looking at Taylor Hawkins' reaction! "eight bars....then he plays two notes..."
There are many we can have one each.. Yes I loved that Joe Walsh bit.

Just watched New Orleans and really enjoyed it
I've really enjoyed every episode, very entertaining, educational and really well made but i think New Orleans just edged it as my favorite 1 of the lot.
I hvn't got the new album yet as its my birthday Tuesday and have been told not to get anything before then, so fingers crossed.
Highlight of the weekend though was my mate texting me yesterday to say he is treating us to a day out next year at Wembley stadium on Saturday the 20th of June!!! Can't wait

Had a right nightmare with tickets for Wembley last week. Went through gigsandtours, got through to the payment screen after selecting the tickets I wanted, and when I hit buy tickets was told that my request could not be processed and to try again later. Luckily my OH was in the SeeTickets queue at the same time and managed to buy the tickets we wanted!
However a few hours later I get a confirmation email from gigsandtours for the tickets I originally thought I didn't get! Long story short I now have 2 standing tickets for Wembley on 20th June that I don't need. If anyone wants them for face value drop me a message.
Sorry mods if this breaks any kind of rule!!

Damn, just went on iplayer to see if the latest was up, and found out the next 1 isn't on till next Sunday and it will be on bbc4
Both quite sad, downbeat episodes IMO. Seattle sad not only because of Kurdt but the fact there is a Sub Pop concession at SeaTac these days! New York because everything great, music wise there, seems to be dead or dying a painful death. Even Thurston Moore lives in London these days.^^^ True. But overall what a great series and even in the depressing last episodes, elements such as the nutter that kept digging and the (apparently slightly staged nevertheless) friendly invitation to passing fans made them hugely entertaining. Even an interview with the president!
Certainly brought the lyrics to life
(Did I mention I still fancy Nancy )
