The fret markers were nowhere near the middle of the frets (the picture above actually shows that - it's not an optical illusion, they really were that far out), there were nicks out of the fret board, the edges of the fretboard weren't finished well, and the fretwork was awful - if you looked along the edge of the fretboard you could see they were all over the places. There were different angles on the edges, some were overhanging the edge, others were too short. Finally, the (fake) binding on the body had been really badly finished. Oh, and it was the wrong colour!
I think it's a shame how the company sort of fizzled out. Shame.
Eggle - Patrick used to live down the road from me (Slap End (yes it's a real place and not a made up Benny Hill name) near Harpenden) and would pop over and see what he was making.
Also played in the village band with him. I'd also guest on a few tracks and would play some of his personal guitars - all very nice too!

You are a lucky man. By all accounts, he is a great Luther and a great guy, but less interested in the business side of things. Also played in the village band with him. I'd also guest on a few tracks and would play some of his personal guitars - all very nice too!
I have had a conversation about my USA Celebration ( Shown above ) with him, and as keen he was to help, he can't remember much about the good old Patrick Eggle Guitar days. ( I get the feeling that is all ancient history, best forgotten )
Here is my Vienna, which I am restoring at the moment. This one also has a one piece top. ( The marks are reflections )
Here's mine...
The Fender is a Highway One strat my wife bought me last year for my 40th. The Rickenback is a 330 6 string I bought last week second hand and collected from the local shop today after it had been serviced... it had been sat in a box for 5 years from new having never been played.

Hello
I have an Ibanez RG1527 in Royal Blue which i love dearly
an Ibanez RG270 in metallicy red which I've had since 1998
and a Tanglewood something or other semi-acoustic that looks a bit like an ovation and is quilted maple in red.
I'm on the look out to get a hardtail for ease of changing tunings.

I have various guitars, mostly Ibanez. My most prized is a USA Custom Graphic made by Hoshino in 1992. I just found out on the Ibanez register that according to Dan Lawrence the graphic artist "The Cosmic Swirl 1's and Grim Reapers, 20-25 each give or take. Only about 10 of the Cosmic Swirl 2's. The hard one to get would be the Swamp Creature; maybe like 5-6 of those." So that's nice
