Saw them last night, on a whim. Very good; more Debbie than Debbie herself.
Seen them a couple of times, once with the actual Clem Burke on drums. They were excellent.

Not quite so good we’re the Sex Pissed Dolls. The guitarist was a stand in who didn’t know the tunes. The drummer however was excellent.

From the Jam. Utterly dreadful, despite having Bruce Foxton bassing. Never liked The Jam much anyway, but playing their songs at about 9/10ths normal speed made them sound even worse. Absolute rubbish.

Very good. I don't like the Beatles particularly but recognise how good that is.

The Stereotonics was the best tribute band that I've seen.

Only ever seen Aussie Floyd, many many years ago in Edinburgh. Pretty good they were. Did Echoes as an encore!

A colleague saw the Bootleg Beatles in the mid/late 90s; at one point they said "here's some of our new material" and started playing an Oasis track.

I took my lad to see Elvana - a Nirvana tribute band but fronted by an Elvis tribute.
Sounds bizarre but it was a great night out.
Wife and I took our teenage daughter to see Elvana at Rock City, in Nottingham, just before lockdown.

The gig was sold out.

Primal Scream played a few nights before and didn’t fill Rock City.

Elvana were ace fun. We will definitely see them perform again.

The Fillers
Basket Case

Both great. Tend to judge a cover band on how pun-ny their names are so I’d be all over the Sex Pissed Dolls.

I’ve a few suggestions but these stood out and actually came on to mention them. Stevie and Christine to an absolute tee.

Second Elvana, great fun! Also an outfit called Flash! are a very good Queen when their Freddie is firing on all twelve, Sound of Springsteen are an excellent live act and I’ll try and think of the others I’ve seen

Really enjoyed Think Floyd a couple of weeks ago. Thought they were superb. Second half was the entire DSOTM album. Think tickets were about £28, great value for money IMO.

Sorry
What's the fking point in replying then?

I've seen the Smyths (the smiths tribute) a few times, pretty good

And transmission, a joy Division tribute, also very good.

Don't remember seeing any absolutely awful ones as I researched them a bit before going.

Death DTA, the Death tribute. Not a massive surprise given they were made up of a few ex-Death members.

Keep on considering a Pink Floyd tribute, nice to see some good reports of the numerous bands out there.

Limehouse Lizzy are very good (Thin Lizzy tribute)
Also Gary Mullens as Freddie Mercury has the voice very close to be fair to him which is obviously an impressive thing to do!

Indeed they are and endorsed by Mick Fleetwood in a video at the beginning of their gigs.

Agreed.

Saw the Bootleg Beatles, in a field in south Worcestershire, many years ago - excellent.

Aussie Pink Floyld in Cheltenham Town Hall were great but extremely loud. At least 10% of the audience didn't return after the interval. People out in the town that evening complained. On the half hour drive home my ears were ringing & my friend & me were having to shout at each other to have a conversation.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac are the best cover band I've ever seen. If you close your eyes sometimes they could actually be them.

Plenty of ste ones. I think the worst was a Beegees tribute at the Spinning Wheel in Paignton. The white 'cat suits' they were wearing looked like decorators overalls.

Limehouse Lizzy.
Turns out one of my childhood neighbours/pals was the guitarist in LImehouse Lizzy (Al Owen) but I'd completely lost touch with him and didn't know about this until after he left the band.
