The Smith Street Band. I am doing some YouTube research in prep for Reading Festival as there's a lot of unknowns for me this year.
Wiki says “In January 2015, the band released a single titled Wipe That st-Eating Grin Off Your Punchable Face, which was inspired by current Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and his government, particularly its stance on asylum seekers"
Now that’s a song title!

Sleaford Mods, "Jolly fker". Not because I like them, but because of the massive hype around them.
The next big indie thing, apparently. Two angry blokes from Grantham swearing to a backing track on a laptop.

The 'Bez' character who just shuffles about looking at the laptop and drinks beer ... nice work if you can get it!
Apparently called 'Sleaford Mods' rather than 'Grantham Mods' because the former is "more edgy". I'm not up to speed with the Lincolshire gangsta heirarchy but it's hardly Straight Outta Compton!

Like some bizarre love child born from Radical Dance Faction, Alexi Sayle and John Cooper Clarke.
I actually quite like it - their Glastonbury set is on in the back ground.
ETA
Feck, having now read a bit more about them, they've collaborated with The Prodigy and also with Leftfield, hardly backwater stuff there. Some of the loops appear to be lifted from Roni Size tunes, you can really hear that at around 22:37 - song 'Job Seeker' (should please most of the PH Massive)
I'm really enjoying this band on first hear.
The last time I said that about a band on the first hear was The Arctic Monkeys and the time before that it was Porno For Pyros.
- I can only assume my neighbours aren't quite enjoying this second playing quite as much as I am.
That last track at 34:20 has a Steve Albini esque drum loop feel to it.
Good Stuff Mr Purple Turtle - thanks for that one.
I'm on my second listen now and really like it,

They are headlinging the Big Top tent at the End OF The Road Festival in September. Think lots of nice Guardian reader types into real ale, Americana and folk music, with delightfully well-behaved children and lots of Cath Kidston attire.
Quite how these two fellas got booked I'll never know, but I'll be there ot give it a watch!

Just can't beat a bit of proper dub-punk.

Todd Terje - It's Album Time
Heavily influenced by Daft Punk, (and even a Nile Rodgers'-esque funky guitar makes an appearance) and Giorgio Moroder, which is no bad thing.
Bryan Ferry has guest vocals on a cover of Robert Palmers' Johnny And Mary, I wished he never bothered, apart from that mess, I like it.
