Batushka and At the Gates
Interested to see what Batushka are like nowadays after the legal wranglings.

I’m not a fan of ATG really, but they were really good at bloodstock when they played.
Faketushka? biggrin I'm gonna go and have a look, I have seen them before and really enjoyed it, hopefully it hasn't been ruined!

Saw Metallica in Slane Castle Saturday. Having seen them quite a few times now, was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Then again the set they played may have helped. smile

I live in Aberdeen and I fly, this will be my third time (2017 & 2018 prior to this) and it's Aberdeen to Amsterdam or Paris and then on to Nantes, in 2017 I spent a day either side of the festival in the city, last year was a shuttle bus direct from/back too the airport, same again this year!

I'll be flying out on the Thursday morning this year, I was originally due to fly on the Wednesday but work have diddled me by organising a site visit by 200 people that I need to be in attendance for, so I can't

My brother lives in London, I'll be meeting him at the airport, we land about an hour apart.

Apparently Metallica are on fire this tour, I'm super jealous - enjoy! biggrin

The latest Amon Amarth album, 'Berzerker' is quite possibly their best yet. Raven's Flight has such a good riff, very impressed.

No prizes for doing anything new, but enjoying Malum

From a split with Lathspell, which is rather nice, in a Behexen-y sort of way.

I wasn't a massive fan when I listened to it the first few times - sort of sounded like they were phoning it in a bit? But it's gaining on me for sure. There are some cracking riffs in there. I've found myself doing the mini-headbang on the train a few times whilst listening so that's got to be a good sign!

That is certainly a good sign.

To be fair I slightly prefer that they have polished their sound that little bit more. I'm all for a good death metal band but when you listen to some of their earlier stuff, it warrants a sharper production which I think this and Jomsviking both have. To me this could be their best album to date although Deceiver of the Gods was pretty damn good!

I have tickets to see them in November so cannot wait for that. \m/

Back from day one of HOP Fest 2019. Saw a few bands I've seen before and have been wanting to see again ( Confessions of a Traitor and High Rise) and discovered a few new ones ( Ursus, Kill the Ideal and Jonestown, the latter of which were bloody monstrous and tight as a tight thing).

More tomorrow. Bunch of stuff I keen to check out, with Divine Chaos and only bloody Vader headlining.

Oh, and I bumped into Alan Moore in Caffe Nero, as seems to happen in this part of the world.

I have no idea how Ghost have passed me by. Saw them at Etihad and was absolutely blown away. Don't think I've ever left a gig humming a song by the support band (Year Zero).

Now utterly addicted to them.

Has your taint recovered? biggrin They were fantastic, even better when the little old lady next to me asked if we were worshipping Satan.

My taint was well and truly tickled 😂
I confess I ordered a T Shirt as I seriously regretted not buying one at the time, though I'd just dropped £150 on Metallica shirts and I think my husband may have been ready to kill me if I had bought anything else.

Would love to see them headlining now.
