Your problem will be vinyl, some of the decent tunes go for stupid money these days!
I’d say you have two choices if you’re being realistic.
Get some Technics and use Serato, then you can mix vinyl but buy the tunes digitally.
Or, make the swap to a controller such as Pioneer XDJ-RX for example. I was a vinyl purist for 25 years and hated the idea of a controller, I then took the plunge and thought I’d at least give it a go before writing off the idea. I’ve had one for about 8 years now and love it! I use it in vinyl mode, so still pitch up tunes manually and use the platters to adjust as needed. I’ve got thousands of tunes that I used to have on vinyl and love that now decent dnb is coming out again, I can buy them, stick on on usb and be mixing with them instantly. I’d highly recommend looking into that before getting Technics.
Prices wise, on vinyl some tunes can be found for near pennies or a few quid, but as soon as you start thinking about anything sought after it can be 50 quid plus for a single 12”! I’m so glad I bought them all back in the day for a fiver new!
Plus a lot of labels are relreleasing their back cat on digital with it being remastered too

Just as an example, I’ve just looked up Rude & Deadly - Lightnin and thunder/Mash them down (often known as give me a dubplate) and there’s two for sale on discogs, the cheapest is £130! Mental.

Yes I saw online some tunes 30, 50 or 120 quid. I have had no exposure to CDJs but also thought about taking the plunge as its so practical. Where are you based?

I’m in Cornwal. This is the main difference, vinyl mode works like a turntable, simple as that apart from it
Not spinning but you adjust to that very quickly

They all do the same thing really, it just depends on how many extra gimmicks and buttons you want!

You’ve reminded me of this, I used to play it on milwaukees system, it sounded mental!

Its at 02:14 that this tune, makes sense for me. Its a short and sweet one. That drop and bass line - just works. Always go back to it now and again.

The intro works, the drop works, but it hits hard. Simple.

DJ Die has never released a bad tune, everything he touches is perfection, right back to the Sublove releases with Jody Wisternoff

Never even knew this thread existed on PH... listening to LTJ's best of good-looking playlist whilst I work, some lovely melodic D&B tunes on that list. And Milwaukee's, wow a proper blast from the past, best club bar none for me, loved every night I had in there.

This, is the style called... Hungry Tiger...

(a real pinch point for me in my D and B journey - totally on point and mesmorising). The Hungry Tigers were a real serious benchmark for me. I am so glad that the latest version was made, one of the rare occasions a tune has progressed and improved each time.

Done 3 ways, original to modern... the middle one is the one I first heard back in the day and hit me hard. Never found it, until now. Unparalleled.

I would say don't discount the first and FFWD to the last - hearing them all back to back is very interesting. They are all very different, but true to the theme. Love these so much!

For some reason at the time I decided to keep all of the mailing sheets that came with promos and white labels, I’ve got loads in a folder, one of them being Hungry Tiger! I remember playing that at milwaukees too, god I miss that place every Friday night!
