For those The Midnight fans, in case you’ve missed it, another track is out:
America 2 - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-AT3HC_9JYQ
They released “Lost Boy” only a few weeks back; great that they seem to be dripfeeding new material out like this.
All signs point to a new album coming out soon!

Another remix by the The Midnight, and quite in the vein of the rest of their original output.

I hadn't heard of Carpenter Brut until recently, but I seem to be playing Leather Teeth quite a lot while gaming. It would have been an absolutely epic track for the old Top Gear to feature in one of their classic films. Ah the good old days!

You can certainly hear the Jarre influence, I hope he continues to drift away from dubstep towards the 80s sound. Shame the recordings have so much level compression on them though. Some tracks do sound like they are from ITV or BBC test cards in 1983 - and that's not a bad thing!

New to the Midnight, but their new album sounds pretty good - concise with a good mix of proper songs and instrumentals. The songs are decent modern pop music with the retro twist rather than being completely pastiche.
Lost Boy is a contender for the misheard lyrics thread though ..."I was an ahole when I met you..."
Where should I go next?

Have you looked up St Lucia?Lost Boy is a contender for the misheard lyrics thread though ..."I was an ahole when I met you..."

Start with his first album “When the Night”.
I love the Midnight, but St Lucia was first. Listening to “Closer to This” whilst lazing around a beach in Bermuda. Unbeatable.
I’d say St Lucia are better ‘musicians’ and they’ve definitely looked to broaden the ground they cover over subsequent albums. But the purity of their tropical pop, beachside bar cool comes out most on the early stuff. Saying that they released their latest album only a few weeks ago - Hyperion. On first past I thought the whole album top grade.
“Tokyo”. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4z5cgAdnYcU
I think the Midnight are naturally hitting the sides of where they can go with their current sound. St Lucia decided to evolve as the synth wave scene is fluid one. It might be the switch up you’re looking for, if unaware of already.
I strumbled across ELFL today
