Obviously one for the Queen fans but there are some great tracks in there.

E.T. is hard to beat... an absolute classic John Williams score.


The modern day soundtrack that springs to mind is "Catch me if you can", amazing.

Ennio Morricone is the god of soundtracks, however, my top favourites are somewhat removed from his classic, haunted landscape masterpieces...

The Matrix and John Wick. Industrial futuristic swirls of violence and desolation.

Honourable mentions to A Nightmare Before Christmas, South Park The Movie (who can forget 'Uncle fker'?)... and the gothic beauty of 'The Hunger'.

It's easy to forget (or perhaps overlook) the fact that Morricone composed over four hundred film soundtracks and only around a tenth of those were Spaghetti Westerns. He did all sorts of other genres, including many 'Giallo' thrillers in the '60s and '70s, a favourite of mine is his work for 'Forbidden Photos Of A Lady Above Suspicion', the main theme of which has some typically ethereal vocals from Edda Dell'Orso.

Another Morricone classic in Once Upon a Time in America, Deborah's Theme was particularly beautiful and sentimental, as befitted Noodle's memories.

Star Wars movies obviously epic, intro music in particular.

Not already mentioned, 1984: awesome acting backed up by a fantastic soundtrack from Eurythmics... and bonus controversy!

The Graduate worth a mention.

Eyes Wide Shut was brutally eery.
