shes my baby - faithless

I'm a slave to your outrage
Rocket rocks stiff shocks and a roll cage
Color-coded alloys, much noise, spoilers are poised
Exhaust note to make me wait for old age
Yes yes. Who got the keys to my RS
We goin' on a road test, hit the M4 and head west
Forever impressed with the sound of my two-liter
We cover ground, engine singin' like Anita Baker
And if I take a corner too quick you get sick, when I do my handbrake
trick
Watch me ride, me broadside's wide like a battleship
Side slip, push, only hip, stick it in gear and give the gas a flip
It never failed to bring a grin to the limb
Baby's equipped
me and she gone clear
I got quick rack reduction on my understeer
I been fairly and squarely described as hairy
People say my baby is scary
Look, you pays your money and you takes your choice
I just love to hear my baby's voice
She's my baby

Jethro Tull - Broadford Bazarr

"
Dirty white caravans down our road, sailing.
Vivas, cortinas, weaving in their wake.
With hot, red-faced drivers, horns flattened, fists whaling,
Putting trust in blind corners as they overtake.
"

Holden - Wilson Phillips

Sylva's Mother - Dr Hook

Leyland - Eric Clapton

Lola - The Kinks

Morgan A Woman - Bee Gees
Made me laugh, also liked Elvis "Cortina trap".

In fact, I have been on my knees because of one or two leylands.

Some of my favourites, some known, some that probably wouldn't get a mention if I didn't..

Vince Taylor - Brand New Cadillac..famously covered by The Clash

Swervedriver - Son of Mustang Ford hehe
" - Son of Jaguar E

Tom Vek - Nothing But Green Lights
..the most memorable lines from the song are..
"You and I, are gonna drive ourselves out of this town
In a 1989 black Mercedes Benz"

Immediatly tought of "Beach Boys" - Fun Fun Fun (til her daddy takes the t-bird away), but already mentioned.

Second:
Pink - Get This Party Started

"Sendin' out the message to all of my friends
We'll be looking flashy in my Mercedes Benz"

Agreed, not a model name, but a car nonetheless!

Oh, just tought of another one (as it's prominently featured in the clip):

Snoop Dogg - Drop It Like It's Hot

The Phantom, exterior like fish eggs
The interior like suicide wrist red

'bet there's a million rap/hip hop songs singin' bout their escalades/rollers/mercs tough...

Edit: went looking for a Beyonce song ('03 Bonnie & Clyde), as I remembered a vnice Aston featuring in the clip, but he only once mentioned "Mercedes Benz".

how about the Buster Rhymes song where he mentions his "Van-Queue-ish"?

I'm trying to think if Wyclef Jean mentions cars at all, cos he's a real petrolhead, he has a McLaren F1, a Zonda, dozens of really nice cars

Studebaker - Warren/Jordan Zevon

I left my home in Monterey just another low prospects man
I'd rather work in the foundry than put fishes in a can
I'm thirty-five and I haven't traveled far and I've spent all my money on this misbegotten car

I'm up against it all like a leaf against the wind and my Studebaker keeps on breaking down again
My Studebaker keeps on breaking down again
I thought I'd go to Fresno just to see my friend but my damn Studebaker keeps on breaking down again

I was speeding south on ninety-nine when the manifold started smokin'
I ran her off the shoulder and now the axle's broken
It made a sound that cracked my heart in half and with only half a half pint of vodka left

I'm up against it all like a leaf against the wind and this Studebaker keeps on breaking down again
My Studebaker keeps on breaking down again
I thought I'd go to Fresno just to see my friend but my damn Studebaker keeps on breaking down again

My Studebaker keeps on breaking down again
My Studebaker keeps on breaking down again
I thought I'd go to Fresno just to see my friend but my damn Studebaker keeps on breaking down again

second post on page 1.

The Saw Doctors - Red Cortina

Born to Run doesn't mention a car specifically bit does mention "hemi powered drones" and "chrome wheeled, fuel injected".

Thunder Road has "burned out chevrolets"

Meat Loaf's "paradise by the dashboard light" is set in a car, but doesn't say which one.

The Drive-By Truckers' "Cottonseed":
"I used to have a wad of hundred dollar bills in the back pocket of my suit
I had a .45 underneath my coat and another one in my boot
I drove a big ole Cadillac, bought a new one anytime I pleased
And I put more lawmen in the ground than Alabama put cottonseed"

And (of course, I'm biased)... "Sharevari" by A Number Of Names:

"Smoking on his cigarette
Listening to his car cassette
Cruising with his hot playmate
In his Porsche Nine Two Eight..." biggrin

When my foots on the throttle there's no looking back
I leave the motor tickin' over when she's back on the track
I've got a 68 Chevy with pipes on the side
You know she's my idea of beauty, that's what I drive

She's got wheels, wheels of steel
She's got wheels of steel
Wheels of steel
Talking 'bout my wheels of steel

I don't take no jibe from the motorway pigs
When I'm crusin' down the freeway I don't get no lifts
If you see me coming get out of my way
You know a Trans Am didn't, I blew it away

Steppenwolf Born to be Wild
The best driving song ever?

White Zombie - Black Sunshine

(gripping the wheel his knuckles went white with desire
The wheels of his mustang exploding on the highway like a slug from a .45
True death: 400 horsepower of maximum performance piercing the night
This is black sunshine.)

Yeah! move me in the silence baltic motorway
Hang me on the edge before I fall away
Apocalypse is dawnin action on the mile
A can-do revolution, earth to the river [nile]
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Cry a river cosmic, moon in scorpio
Feel her body breathe, acid radio
Tell me that you like it, when Im going down!
Tell me that you like it, move to the speed of [sound]
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Go! slide into, I said 44 cool heart can
A hypnotize dream into infinity, I turned the love to lies
Crawl across the water, wave and sink into the sea
Reflectn onto everything, that you can never be
check-out!, yeah!
To the devil a daughter comes 200 worlds away, yeah
Born to lose the love you choose, destroy another day
Check out!!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride
Stare into the t.v. kiss off the pain
Wonderland is falling, no sing, no rain momentary
Damage into the high drift me to the circuit sky

(finally nothing moves. high noon.
Black top rolling below the asphalt drive
A concrete fascination scraping the edge of nothing
This is black sunshine.)
