Saw them in Bristol last week, they were great. Though I'll not be rushing to a gig at SWX again...

Emma Hatton at Jack Solomon's in Soho tonight, starting in about 15 minutes...

A very intimate club hidden in the centre of London.

Just bagged a ticket for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at The O2 in May.

I normally stand at gigs, but standing tickets were £71.50 incl the nasties, alas the norm for London arenas these days, whereas a seat in the Gods (which isn't that bad at the O2, in my view - pun intended) was a relative bargain at 38 quid.

He's someone I've always wanted to see, but only caught in his Grinderman phase which was a tad different.
He is brilliant live, but nothing will persuade me to watch a gig again at that rip off toilet

Prince was the last act I saw there as I had no choice
Prince was in its very early days as a venue though, post Millenium Dome debacle, I went too.

I’ve probably been to 30 or more gigs there since, I find it pretty good as arenas go - as I say I tend to always stand, they don’t pack the floor so you get space around you and can easily relocate away from annoying gig-chatters and cameraphone wkers.

Cost increases are just the way the whole dynamic of the recorded/live music business model has changed, something that would have been 40 quid five years ago is now 70 quid, totally out of touch with inflation, so I am a bit more selective about what I go to see.

all set to watch Midge Ure last weekend but family matters interfered frown (apparently the set was the whole Vienna album <sob sob>)
I went to the York Gig. Rusty Egan sort of talked you though the 80's scene as a warm up. He then appeared as part of the band during the Visage Set. The Vienna Album was played straight in Track sequence and was brilliant. The encore included "hymn".

Early on Before "Fade to Grey" Midge did say that he had had the revelation that the audience was made up of their fans and their Partners and they were just there to hear two songs!!

Had tickets for "Orchestral Manoeuvrers In the Dark" on Monday. Absolutely fantastic live and they had to Balls to open with "Stanlow" from Organisation. Andy's Dada dancing has to be seen to be believed.

I saw James Grant in Liverpool last night - he was very good. About 100 people in the room I would say.

Sad that I’m going to be away when Hugh Cornwell is playing Carlisle this month.

I’m not a big big goer, but Half Man Half Biscuit in Newcastle earlier in the year was a wonderful to behold, possibly my favourite gig ever!

Y&T at The Brook last Thursday was fantastic... 2 1/2 hours with no support. How Dave’s voice holds up is beyond me. 100% recommend the ‘soundcheck experience’.

My brother and I are going to Glasgow tomorrow for MH. Past couple "evening with machine head" and they've been tremendous. Can't wait.

Saw Greta van Fleet last night (originally scheduled for March). First time seeing them live, and they were really good.

Big mentioned to the support act Yola, who I had never heard of before. She has a great voice and I look forward to hearing more of her stuff.

Stupidly excited.

Set lists from last few nights look great.

They had some sound issues at Brixton last night apparently due to someone launching a full beer over their sound board.

Presumably that's "Love and Money" James Grant? Does he play a mix of Love and Money and solo stuff?

Tried and failed to buy tickets for Madness at Camden Electric Ballroom - they are playing there 40 years to the day from when they last appeared and tickets are priced the same - £2.50! (plus 50p booking fee which probably didn't apply in '79, but hey) - £2.50 is cheap for the booking fee alone these days!

Well done to anyone who bought a pair.

Generally very good, the man has the most ridiculous amount of energy for someone his age! My only quibble was the sound quality, I don't remember the Roundhouse being bad for this in the past but his voice level needed to go up a couple of ticks and the guitars down a couple. Strange because there was a sodding great desk right in the middle which we stood near to so I don't know why they weren't hearing the same as us!

He missed a couple of numbers which were on previous R(e)volution setlists which I would have liked to have heard but that's just because I remember listening to him in my bedroom at the parents' house 40-odd years ago!! Actually that was a very notable thing, the age demographic of the audience! Much older than when I saw him 2 years ago, I wonder whether that's because people were expecting older songs this time vs 2 years ago being primarily promoting Savage?

I found the graphics during Absolution hard going though. Lots of terrorism/ISIS etc clips being shown on multiple screens, some of it was pretty close to the mark. I wasn't really getting the connection.

Towards the end he stopped and "had a chat" with the audience. He seemed to be genuinely happy and really enjoying himself, much more so than I have seen him in the past.

Indeed that very James Grant.

He played a mixture. Quite a lot from Strange Kind Of Love. He said as those songs were going down well he'd play a few more from that album, so he did.

I'd not heard any of this solo stuff before so I will have to make a couple of CD purchases.
