That's the chappy. Came with a limited edition engraved 7" single.
Had Streetcleaner, World Eater and Exhume to Consume on there, as I recall. Can't remember what else. Possibly Nocturnus?

Black only gives a hint as to how good AIC were. It's not a bad album, but not as idiosynchratic as their earlier stuff and far more mainstream.
Agreed. Which in some ways is good - it's easier to listen to - but it does miss the genuine 'moments of genius' that e.g. Dirt and Jar of Flies showed (esp. Dirt - that is a Desert Island album).

As an aside, while we're on this sort of music, what's the consensus on Black Stone Cherry?
Young pretenders. I mean they tick all the right Southern/Heavy Rock boxes but I can't help thinking that a touch of something special seems to be

missing at the moment. In time maybe. But they have to compete with these chaps, who do it a lot better..

hehe I was born in '91, but my musical taste seems similar to yours.

Haven't seen Mercyful Fate mentioned yet, what an immense band!

Good lad; try and get your clammies on Restless & Wild by Accept (1982.)

Heavy Metal of the purest calibre which has over the years helped me achieve some frankly exceptional velocities.

This and Sargeist's "Let the Devil In" have been more than floating my Black Metal boat of late.

Blimey.

I also just remembered I've got Bathory's Blood Fire Death on picture vinyl - apparently a limited run of 2000.

While we're at it, Celtic Frost's Monotheist is a remarkable album. Hard to get into, but it's got a habit of getting under your skin once you get over the initial atonality.

I listened to the new Craft last week.. There's some great songs on it but I dont think it manages to make up for the wait. I do imagine there's quite a lot of potential for it to grow, as I've only listened once.

Digging around for a digital version of the Pathological Compilation led me to this, the very wonderful Genital Grinder 2.

Also.

This.

Turn it up.

Way, way up.

It's also reminded me of this:-

(All same band, same album (probably my favourite of theirs), and probably the same shed-load of hardcore drugs used in their creation...)

Monotheist is awesome although as you say it is an aquired taste. Have you heard Tom G Warrior's new band Triptykon yet?

It's certainly not as immediate as "Total Soul Rape", which is a bloody awesome record, but it is growing on me. As you point out, I think the gap has given it too much to live up to. Just nice to hear Black Metal that isn't all hyper-speed the whole time and puts a bit more thought into it.

The new Craft made it into the Swedish Top 10! It's on my 'buy' list but so are 100s of other albums, not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Not bad. Nice creepy crawly sound, but vocals are a bit too generic US DM for me.
