Just been reminding myself of great evening at Wembley last Sunday, around about this time, the last song before the encores.
I've followed and watched the band since being a huge Peter Green fan when they first formed in 1967, through to Lindsey Buckingham who captured me during the mid 70s not only with his at that time similar 'Green' looks (ie long hair, beard etc), but with his incredible guitar playing), to the guitarist who caught my eyes in 1980 in Oxford (with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), and always thought was the best, the great Mike Campbell, and he deservedly takes and fills Buckingham's place in a group that has, and always has, evolved since its beginning.

Great sight too, seeing so many age differences all happy for once in this seemingly divided country now, all singing this number as we left in our droves.
Long may FM continue in whatever guise.

Perhaps I will have to attend bloody Glastonbury, never bothered, ever. Was going to go to the first one organised by Eavis way back in 1970 but he wanted a quid! Bloody hell, a quid! For a couple named bands (Kinks) and some I'd never heard of. I know, peanuts, compared to today, but the month prior I'd paid just 3 quid for 3 days on the Isle of Wight to see loads of bands from here and around the world, inc the Doors and Hendrix, which attracted that record crowd of over 600,000 (some est. even more!), eclipsing even Woodstock the year previous, so a quid sounded outrageous charge.
I thought it would never catch on!
However, the reason I might have to attend Glasto at some point is Mick Fleetwood at the end of the Wembley gig said they might one day play ...in a field!!
If they do, I just hope to f it doesn't pee down.

Monday morning commute...
“The Song Remains The Same”
Subconscious choice as I wandered around my music. Freudian? Certainly apt.
That song's all about the journey, man, although I'm sure you know that and imho is one of the greatest tracks they ever recorded.“The Song Remains The Same”
Subconscious choice as I wandered around my music. Freudian? Certainly apt.
....and listening again on my commute home. Can’t get enough!!!
