having had a chat with myself about booking too many gigs i've just added a second to this week's shopping.
wanted to see one of my favourite DJs Luke Una playing at the Jazz Cafe in Camden in December and then realised prior to his set at 10.30pm they have Change playing.
these are an Italian produced soul band from mainly the 80s. The line up changed for almost every album and they used a variety of singers including Luther Vandross. So I didn't think it really mattered who is doing the honours this time. £22.50 including booking fee and some good pubs in Camden so a decent night out should be had.

Booked The The for next year at the Alexandra palace which I’m really looking forward to.
My twin brother is a massive The The fan, he's booked us a couple of tickets for that and flying in from overseas for it. Reminder that I need to tell my wife that our 12th wedding anniversary (that day) will have to be postponed 24hrs!

Saw New Order a few weeks back in Leeds and they were superb. A good deal of Joy Division songs as part of the set list.
Seeing The Chemical Brothers tomorrow in London.

glad NO were good; last time i saw them i thought they were past it. It was outside at a big festival which may not have helped.Seeing The Chemical Brothers tomorrow in London.

The Chems are brilliant with excellent visuals. If you've not seen them before you're in for a treat. I'd be going but I'm stuck in this weekend as my dog hates fireworks and it's not fair to leave him alone.

I’ve been a fan for years just never got around to seeing them live. I caught their ‘The The: The Comeback Special’ performance at the RHA from 2018 on the tv recently which looked good.Reminder that I need to tell my wife that our 12th wedding anniversary (that day) will have to be postponed 24hrs!

Yes, I thought NO were decent and the Leeds arena is big but not too big if you know what I mean. I saw them at the London o2 a couple of years ago and thought their Leeds gig was better which may have been down to the venue and the fact we were near the front at Leeds as opposed to up in the seats at London. Steven Morris did look knackered come the end but we tend to forget these guys are in their late 60’s now.The Chems are brilliant with excellent visuals. Chemical Brothers were great last night. We really enjoyed it and like you say, the visuals were amazing. A great show.

Green day at the electric Ballrooms next Friday, went to register, but £93 a ticket no thaaaaanks
They’re great live….but £93 is steep.Laughed when I logged on to the Bataclan tickets site at 10am CET and found I was one of 16,000 buyers waiting.
Tangerine Dream last night at Pompey Guildhall, excellent gig and nearly 3 hours long. Worth catching them on this tour if you're into your electronic music, the 45 minute or so improvised session they did as an encore was fantastic.
Definitely not a band just playing the old stuff and living off former glories.

Anyone looking at gig prices and thinking it’s just too much now? I guess it’s easier if you are local to a gig but I need to travel, so can add in travel costs plus food, drink, hotel. It’s often £250+ before you have even had a drink. I love a gig and it’s not really the money in terms of affordability but more is it worth it at those levels.
Absolutely. I don't often go and see bands more than once, even the ones I've enjoyed, but I'm certainly put off doing so even more by ticket prices these days.
I did spring £80 for Pulp at Hammersmith a while ago, with about £7 for tube fares, £20 for petrol and another £15 for a couple of beers meant around £120, which I didn't mind as it was so good and I hadn't seen them before, but I was thinking of going to see Heaven 17, Lloyd Cole and OMD again on their next tours, but they're all around £50 for a ticket and I've seen them before for far less, so I'm wondering why I'd spend that much to see someone again.
OK, you could argue, £100 for a decent night out isn't too much, but will the experience be better (or even as good?) the second or third time as it was the first time you saw someone live? I suspect not.
So far, the gigs I have lined up are for bands or artists I've never seen before and aren't charging as much for tickets.
Flip side is I’ve just booked Judas Priest with my son who’s a massive Metal Fan, £86 a ticket !!
I managed to get a ticket to see The Almighty on the 2nd December at Kentish Town. Can’t wait, never thought they would get the classic line up back together for just 3 gigs.
I’m going on my own as well, which actually I don’t mind as I tend to havevv BBC s different taste on music to my friends, I can go up, have a few beers in the pub round the corner and get in there. No one knows or cares that you are on your own anyway!
