Under a grand with Floyd rose, Solar a2.6 would be my choice, been drooling over the natural wood 1.6 but bit above price range.

Justified the unjustifiable purchase on the basis of:
I wanted a new guitar (had a few things to celebrate recently, so treated myself)
I didn't have a 'shred' guitar
I didn't own a guitar with a wizard/skinny neck, a bound neck, stainless frets, an ebony fretboard, a reverse headstock or offset fret markers.
Concessions to middle age:
No trem; I can't be bothered with locking trems any more (no offense meant to those that love them)
So far I'm really pleased. Plays effortlessly and quality seems top notch. My inner teenager is delighted and I am ignoring the fact that as a 51 year old man I have no business owning a guitar like this. As an aside, it is literally the most orange thing ever - more orange than the photos can convey (and the irony of having an Orange amp is not lost on me).
Introduced it sensitively to the rest of the herd initially, so as not to spook anything...

Yes I'm gravitating increasingly these days to guitars with no trem. It forces you to think more, rther than just giving it a quick tug (stop laughing at the back) whenever you run out of inspiration.
Indeed, since I returned to the Les Paul fold, my Strats have hardly got a look in. Already sold two and a third is on eBay as we speak. They'll probably all go eventually.

Keep the orange guitar away from the orange amp. Very sensible.

Thanks! It's certainly a bit different from the rest of my guitars.Amps are a Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 36 and an Orange Rocker 15 Terror. Both very different (H&K is fairly versatile and hi-fi whilst the Orange is more characterful and grungy). There's also an Orange Micro Terror and a Micro Dark Terror there (excellent bits of kit, especially for the price), as well as an ancient 10W Roland practice amp. I've also got a Yamaha THR10X practice amp.
I don't know much about h&k really. I remember I first spotted one when I saw my vitriol back in the day but from looking on YouTube just now yours must sound great! Those little orange amps really do the business. I saw Jim root playing one like that a while back and they can really do it. I've not touched my guitars for a long time but they deserve to come back out. Thanks for the inspiration

Good to hear you are getting the guitars back out 
You can pick up the Orange Micro (and Micro Darks) for about £100 used, if you want to give one a go. As an alternative, I recommend the Tonebridge App if you gave a computer interface, as it's great fun and plenty of inspiration on offer...free.

I picked up an Orange Stamp pedal quite cheap last year. Can't remember how much now, but sure it was under £100.
Can be used as a pedal, or cab sim into a PA as a back up amp for our gigs. It can even run a speaker cab as it's a 20 watt class D amp as well. Classic Orange sounds, though only a single 12AX7 valve in it I believe. I sold my Orange Tiny Terror to a friend a few years ago and regretted it, so the Stamp was a cheap way to get a bit of that sound back (and justified as my tiny gig back up amp).
