Foo Fighters' cover of 'band on the run'

https://youtu.be/DSIUrba-aoc

Which incidentally was recorded for Radio1s 40th birthday, ten years ago this weekend!

Sepultura's version of Orgasmatron (Motorhead)gets my vote, has to be listened to at big volume for full effect.

Probably too brutal and heavy for most folk on here though I would imagine.

That is an excellent cover of a brilliant song. What ever happened to Ash?

Here are a few that show that a good song can stand up to a very different interpretation....

The Stray Cats Rockabilly version of "You Can't Hurry Love"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5byk-DrwRBw

The Saw Doctors showing that a bunch of hairy arsed rockers can take a song by a girl group and completely change it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8sI1c2QMSU

(The puppets are Podge and Rodge. Their interview with Johnny Vegas was "interesting" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-IfoVv1r2Q)

Amy McDonald doing a live acoustic version of "Town Called Malice" on Radio 2. I was in the car when I heard this broadcast and remember thinking that this was a bit special.

Always loved this since I first heard it on a Volume CD - not normally a fan of Costello performance-wise either!

I wonder what your thoughts are on the new version of Roy Orbison's 'I drove all Night? Comes pretty close to being better than the original.....
