Great debut albums
Discussion
Two songs on that album are still staples of their live set today, however it's not one of my favourites. It did launch IM onto the music scene and as a result they built a hardcore of support that enabled the push into arena and stadium tours that arguably NOTB and then Powerslave initiated.

My personal favourite from the first is Charlotte...I agree with your NOTB and Powerslave comment to a degree. I saw them a few times as support in the early 80s, then once as the main act at the Man Apollo later on. Didn't see them for another 30 years, got back into gigs and found they were a stadium act playing the same songs as when they supported UFO (a much better band) all those years ago!ElectricSoup said:

Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
What was 'great' about it? Virtually all their subsequent albums were better.A few of my initial thoughts have already been mentioned, credit to those who suggestion Daft Punk, Homework and Chemical Brothers, Exit plant dust and Prodigy Experience and Air, all fantastic albums that are always in my go to pile of cds.
I'd also include.
Pendulum, Hold your colour
Roni Size, new forms
Chase and status, more than alot
Plan B, who needs actions when you have words

Earth Vs The Wildhearts (best debut rock album ever made)
Loving this at the mo, cheers for the heads up.Ps. If you really are enjoying it then PHUQ is pretty much just as good with a slightly different feel to it and in fairness the new album from this year Rennaisence Men isn't far off their best stuff.

Straight Outta Compton - NWA
On TV the other morning, a piece live from a children's cancer ward, and in the background a little girl of about 9 or 10, wearing a headscarf so obviously bald, with a t-shirt, in the NWA black and white font, which read STRAIGHT OUTTA CHEMO. Top kid.
