Queen at the O2 in January!
Discussion
Freddie was in a league of his own , incredible showman, huge charisma and one of the absolute greatest rock voices of all time.
They should do a show with someone like Gary Mullen , he seems to be very good at it, would be a great night out I think. However i'm sure the show in Jan will still be an enjoyable one!

I saw them twice with Paul Rodgers fronting. First time at Hyde Park was awesome with a great atmosphere. Second time at the O2 was disappointing as the atmosphere was severely lacking.
Might be better if you're down the front but where we were sitting we might as well watched on TV for all the atmosphere the venue gave.
Not sure if this is a Queen issue, an O2 issue or a combination of the two?
As such I didn't bother to get tickets this time.

Similar to the above, I was also at the 2005 Hyde Park gig with Paul Rodgers and it was extraordinary. That said, the circumstances surrounding it (it was supposed to happen the day after the London bombings but was postponed by a week) created a different atmosphere.
I then saw them at the Liverpool Echo in 2008 and whilst the concert was good the atmosphere was a bit lacking in some respects.
I'm seeing them in Newcastle this time and very much looking forward to it; the videos I've seen with Adam Lambert look very good.

If Brian May and Roger Taylor want to carry on gigging they should
form a brand new band together and also release some new material.
I assume you realise that Roger Taylor, Brian May and the pair of them (with Paul Rodgers) have released a number of singles and albums that have not included Freddie Mercury or the songs recorded by him? ie they have and do release new material.form a brand new band together and also release some new material.
No harm in bringing the classics of Queen to a new audience in my opinion and why wouldn't they when they can sell out any venue they sell tickets for?
I'd see them with Mark Martel singing. He performed with Queen Extravaganza and is excellent. Obviously nobody could be Freddie but his renditions of the songs from the various years were great.

totally agree bob, was at the o2 Saturday night, great show, Adam Lambert is spot on singing in Queen, really works well, it was a fantastic show..not interested in what they should or shouldn't do/have done..not as good as Freddie/better than Rogers etc etc etc...just take it for what it is Queen + Adam Lambert is a great great rock show, great songs, great performances...end of story
Agreed, didnt really quite get Brian May's solo at all, it was 'odd' at best!....the only real downer on the night for me was they didn't play 'don't stop me now' which is a favourite. I was there with my 8 yr old son,who loves that song and I had looked at the Newcastle set list, so I could see when certain songs were coming up,never played it at O2 which as I say was a shame really.
