Best theraputic late night music
Discussion
I broadcast on a hospital/community radio station serving 2 hospitals, the local populace & available worldwide on the interweb (as with most such stations).
Seeking suitable late night/early hours material that is soothing without being too sloppy or Bubblegum. Vocal & non-vocal & melodic smooth jazz sort of stuff.
Am OK with 60's to 80's stuff (but suggestions still welcome), but not so up-to-date with later decades.
What would you like to hear & incidentally what would you hate or might be irritated by?
Would much appreciate your ideas for what is a modest but good cause.
Thanks.

Buy all the "anotherlatenight" mixes, other than the Nick Warren one (because that's dross).
Then pick styles / artists/ labels you like and get googling =)
Found so much good music/artists from the "Late Night Tales" records I didn't know existed, good advice above. Then pick styles / artists/ labels you like and get googling =)
My goodness the volume of replies is almost embarrassing.
Have now got a major job on my hands summarising all the music suggested & start searching & listening.
In fact the material suggested could well lead to my creating a new style of show with 100% emphasis on ambient soundscapes but NO pan pipes or whale sounds !!!!!
Furthermore I also need to create some CD's for the alternative physiotherapists at a hospice I also volunteer for. These sounds whilst tuneful must have NO triggers that might lead to awakening memories of past pleasures that could heighten awareness of a patients current plight.
And I thought Pistonheaders were just petrol heads.
