OK, my dilemma is this: for about 30 years, I have lusted after a Rickenbacker bass and I'm now finally in a position to be able to afford one. So, I took a trip down my local music store to enquire and it turns out that Rickenbacker are utterly hopeless when it comes to supplying instruments - the store has had two on order since last April, and they also said that on one occasion they waited 18 months for an order to arrive. They're going to check with Rosetti to see if there's any chance of it arriving in time for Christmas, and, if it does, then I'm sorted. I suppose I could try ordering online, but the store (Sounds Great in Cheadle) have been good to me in the past and I really want to give them my custom. Meantime, though, I can feel myself being seduced to the Dark Side in the form of a Geddy Lee signature Jazz.

So, the question is; do I hang on for a Ricky 4003, or do I accept that I only want one 'cos Chris Squire plays one and go for the Geddy Lee Jazz, which is every bit as tasty as the Ricky, really, plus cheaper.

Any particular reason for saying that?
