Sorry everyone, I messed up! Turned out I hadn't booked the NEC Holiday Inn but the Airport one instead, which despite the website saying was 0.4 miles from the NEC, turned out to be more like 5 miles at least on the other side of the airport. If I'm staying up there next year I'll make sure I book the correct hotel!

We sat in that bar all night! I even went up to complete strangers and asked if they were you! We thought you'd been put off by the snow

BTW - the Airport/NEC are on the same complex, so it will have been the same Holiday Inn for both - the mileage just depends on which 'bit' of the NEC they measure it to

There are definately two as I went to the wrong one first! One is on the edge of the North car parks and is the one I'd meant to book, and the other is on the far side of the airport on the far side of the runway to the NEC meaning there's no way through.

I would have been quite late as it was, the kart race was ridiculously delayed and it was 6:30pm before I even left to go to the hotel, by the time I had found it it was already 7:30!

The marshalls, for some reason wanted to put a red flag in practice out every time someone nudged the barrier. It caused it to overrun massively. Still Massive fun though. I never spotted you there, did you get any good photos? (Number 4 especially, ideally with someone wth a black suit!)

You're right, the other is by the cargo airport - and MILES away! - I forgot all about that one.
