man maths is a wonderful thing, but affordability quite another.

i had worked out my 100k budget on a loan repayment being my housing allowance minus my rent. this car ups that game somewhat.

the bigger issue, if the repayments are agreeable, would be this or the RS rep on C&P, or a 997 carerra S, or an exige, or, or, or.

a decent 964 3.6 turbo is worth twice that asking price in the uk or us. i bet it goes like a scalded cat. i hope mr barclay is in a good mood. i feel the others would be more reliable and less rapey come service time, but you only live once.

the gt34.0 would indeed be a great toy, but too busy for day to day use i feel [not that the choice is something my wallet can stomach].

i can't help noticing how 'right' the regular 997 carereras look though. anyone care to speculate what impact the release of the new model, combined with local tastes for all things new, will have on used values?

having watched bad boys at the weekend, i'd take the tubby over that any day.

my friend who was interested in buying a 500sl is now thinking a new renault for 55k AED with 3yrs free servicing and a year's free insurance is a better idea. i do hope it's a logan so i can rofl.

drove it earlier. v. smooth, quiet and wafty with plenty of history. few small niggles but purely cosmetic and fixable.

how are they in the desert? what is likely to go pop and how badly will my wallet suffer in the event? i read that air suspension is problematic, but cheaply replaced with springs if and when it packs in.

chatting to my colleague this morning [defender / disco owner who came with me last night] it doesn't have self levelling , just active cornering. yeah, i was surprised how little the response was when sticking the boot into a 4.0l V8.

it did ride a million times better than the same year cherokee i drove the other day, and much more luxurious.

gotta wait a week or so for some cash, so will see.

been looking at a few se7en sites recently and i think if you wanted a road going one in the UAE, then it'd be hard to look past the brunton superstalker. basically a caterham re-engineered for a GM drivetrain. their supercharged v6 version gives 280bhp in a 660kg tub for a bargain $18k + shipping.
