fellow musers. i want something interesting for winter. thinking about a cayman [james i'll give you a buzz when i get a moment] but left field musings are a clio v6 or an s1 elise. budget to 70k, may stretch to more if it is sufficiently stonking. suggestions please.

i'd say japan, first shot being at the auction house and 3 kei cars in the 3rd one.

whilst part of me thinks this is a scam advert - why would someone with a single digit number plate be flogging cars on dubizzle - its a manual nsx for decent money, form an orderly queue!

NB - i need to stop looking at early pork. was looking at old bringatrailer ads from 2011 where $15k would geta mint 912 and $30k an extremely tasty 911. the boat has long since gone and left me on the dock.

starting to look in earnest for my winter wheels.

2 seats
modern or classic
convertible ok if the roof is quick and easy to put up and it looks good fitted
manual
esoteric
pref. under 70k

will consider literally anything. import maybe considered if it's sufficiently wantable. bonus point awarded for classified ads i don't already know about smile

shortlist so far:

s1 elise
boxster/cayman
that everpresent feeling that i really should get a clio v6
decent z3m coupe, if such things exist
yorky's m3

dream list if they were available locally:

porsche 914
sunbeam alpine

stupid list that can only end in death:

triumph scrambler

suggestions?

sadly esoteric also requires simple mechanics! there's an sl600 and a brabus'd sl73amg i know of but the potential for wallet rapery is obscene.

also a cruiser isn't quite what i want unless the car is cool/pretty enough. mercs are ugly utilitarian beasts.

the sl600 is on dubizzle. its a a black jap import on horrible lorinser wheels. looks in great nick though.

the brabus sl73 [red] is at al hai motors in deira.

jase discovered the sl shares the same platform as the same era e class. a 7.3litre 200mph v12 brick shaped estate is exactly my cup of tea!

don't like the s4 spider, boat tail's the only one that looks pretty imo.

yes really. not a huge fan of the hotrod look dash & wheel but fixable. really like the idea of an alpine and that one's in great nick.

plus i reckon an f20c and 6 speed might fit, hehehe.

i think the yellow car is phil mcgovern's 993 rs

http://www.0-60mag.com/news/2011/06/cars-porsche-9...

same pic behind the red curtain thing, looks like a carrrera gt spoiler.

next pic, 996 rsr and a caged 924/44, where is this garage?
