I have always preferred a quick driver in a white helmet rather than a midfield back of the pack flash helmet.
Show me the speed not the money

That helmet was middle of the road Sparco (bit under 300 quid) and the paint job a bit over 300 (a few years back).
£300 is a new set of tyres to me & that would be a far higher priority.

My Helmet is worth a second a lap - I WOULD be mid grid without it;)

Same car, 4 years apart (not just the helmet has been upgraded).

Jelly's current helmet design takes inspiration in part from one of Valentino Rossi's earlier efforts.

I'm hopeful/terrified that perhaps he'll get himself a new one, taking inspiration from one of Vale's more recent quality moments:

Hey guys, this is a bit off topic but seeing as we're all talking about our helmets (ooer) I got a question I wanna ask but don't want to start a new thread.
Is there anywhere you can still purchase motorbike helmets (as these are a bit cheaper than motorSPORT helmets) that comply to BS 6658? All the motorbike helmets ive been able to find have all changed to the new european standard now (ece2205) but the MSA still only recognise BS6658 Type A. I don't want to spend £2-300 on a sparco/omp/peltor etc when there's plenty of £100 motorcycle helmets out there that will do the job. (This is for relatively slow speed off road events)
Thanks.

I realise that this doesn't answer your question but just be aware that as of January 2010, BS6658 85 Type A helmets will no longer be acceptable for MSA events. Minimum will be BS6658 Type A/FR (fire retardent spec helmet).
Other acceptable types are:
FIA 8860-2004
SNELL SA2005
SFI Foundation 31.1A, 31.2A

Have you got a terminal twitch in your hands, or a badly buckled wheel?
