Have you had any driver coaching?
Yep, Shorty told me I was driving it like an old woman once. That spurred me on to another class win.

Tee hee hee.

Two and a half seasons before my first win.

It took me one and a half seasons, and several test days, to learn how to drive, and a further season to realise that the person supplying mechanical advise didn't have a clue what he was talking about.

However I had done a couple of years sprinting before racing so wasn't a complete novice.

For the half a season I was being lapped once or twice by my class mates. This was fixed by some tuition (built up confidence more than anything else, all the instructors ever say is "be smoother", but most can rarely ever explain HOW), test days and having someone else better than me drive the car and point out a few problems with it.

I had my 1st win this year at Cadwell - I lead last year at Cadwell for 1/2 a lap - I was so amazed I was in the lead and lost concentration totaly nearly spinning at the hairpin!

I've paid twice for 30mins - once at Spa and once at Brands and been with three free ones before at Bedford and Brands and Combe. Not wanting to sound arrogant or anything but they all said "Fantastic, really smooth, can't teach you anything - just brake later and harder"

Well if that was the case I should have won every race I entered - and reality is far from that beleive me. So my question is how far can a driving instructor take you when you get to level or how good is your instructor? do you ever ask - I never did I just assume they are driving gods. I would love to have a real opion of my driving - I guess when someone gets in the car start crunching the gearbox and thinks apexes are only found on houses the instructor has a pretty easy time helping someone get better. But when they are smooth and take good lines it must be harder to take them to the next level - I guess then it's down more to driver to improve without in car help but looking at data with someone who knows what it is.....whish I had the funds to find out...
