New 40 min race series for post year 2000 cars
Discussion
great race on Saturday and apologies for all the gravel everywhere, I don't usually do that, but the road tyres caught me out, have spoken to a few of the other TVR guys and there are a good few that are coming out to play, so should get the numbers up nicely, would be great to see some Ginettas and lotus out and Porsche cup cars. Think this could quickly grow into an excellent series for next year, with the chance to race the AJP Tuscan at spa, can't wait!!

I wouldn't expect engine swaps to be allowed tbh.
Hi Andy,I hear what you are saying.
I'd best go and look for an engine that hasn't been manufactured for 20 years, is rarer now than hens teeth and spare parts are no longer available, wish me luck LOL .
You could always go back to a Rover - not in production but still lots about.
I do hear what your saying Andy. I'm caught between a rock and a hard place with these classic cars when spare parts and engines are no longer available. A lot of road TVR's are being converted to Chevrolet power because of the parts supply. The Chevrolet seams to continue the ethos of no driver aids , big V8's, big throaty noise, big crowd pleaser, all in the spirit of TVR with spare parts available what's not to like. As far as Rover engines are concerned....................................
I already race this one with you in the Future Classic's series, a Rover V8 (some would say an American 1956 Buick engine design), mine been an original 1989 model.

I am sure that the regs will be re-considered at the end of the season in the light of the experience of the races at Donington and Snetterton but I wouldn't expect engine swaps to be allowed tbh.
If you are letting tuscans with 4.5 AJP engines in would my road tuscan speed six be allowed in now with its 4.5 AJP as up untill now it has been refused entryeastlmark said:
going to come to Snetterton to take a look at this, have a X65 Clio cup racer looking for a series. Looks like it might be going more sports than tin tops mind judging by this thread.
A Clio Cup car would be a good choice for the up to 2 litre class and there were 2 entered in the first race at Donington., along with an Integra and several other Saloons. I have had interest from a chap building a Civic with a sequential box, too, so I really don't think it will be a sports car only series.kg55 said:

I'll withdraw gracefully subject to the views of the masses but my underlying point is that if this is "open"and not intended as a championship then there are lots of cars out there that are struggling to find longer races who would welcome the mix of open and closed sports cars.

New Millenium series is intended for road biased cars. The 2-11 is an Elise underneath and was homologated into GT4 (I helped a team race one in British GT a few years ago), indeed you could take the bodywork off a 2-11 and fit Elise or Exige bodywork if you wanted!I'll withdraw gracefully subject to the views of the masses but my underlying point is that if this is "open"and not intended as a championship then there are lots of cars out there that are struggling to find longer races who would welcome the mix of open and closed sports cars.
CSCC is also going to run some Opens Sports Vs Saloon races - you will have to ask the Office if a Radical is eligible for those races as I am not sure.
It's not perfect world and its not easy to have regs to suit everyone, and I suspect that if a Radical turned up many others wouldn't. That's not to say we wouldn't run a series for sports racers if enough people committed but we'd have to be really sure we'd get good grids everywhere.
