Great photos Matt! What a horrid day, I hope you didn't get too wet.

The race officals tried to tell me that I didn't finish the race frown they had a 'computer says no' moment. I qualified three from the back, and was pleased to be in front of chaps with a bit more experience than me. It was really greasy in practise, and light rain started almost straight away which made me cautious on slicks as I saw a few people have big moments and one car hit the barriers backwards. The rain set in for the rest of the practise sessions and carried on through until the start of our race which I think finally got underway at about 13:30.

I got pipped at the start by a couple of the lads (my starts are slowly improving), and I followed fairly closely around old hall, but the spray and complete unknown made me back off slightly as I'm rather precious of the car. I managed to keep the gap constant for a few laps which I was pleased with, but then a few slides got my confidence and I didn't feel I could push it much more. The rear suspension still needs softening as over a few of the bumps the back end was hopping and causing me problems with rear grip, although possibly there may be a better line to reduce hitting the bumps.

One of the cars in front went off at Druids and ended in the gravel, and that caused me a few scares, as instead of taking the corner as usual, it would draw my attention and then I'd be slightly off line, slightly unsettled and I had to catch the car twice because of my mistakes.

When I saw the last lap board I backed waaay off as I knew I wouldn't catch those in front, and the car that was behind me at the start I hadn't seen for half the race. I passed the chequered flag and then had the circuit's BMW bearing down on me for the warm down lap.

When we got the results I was classed as a DNF, and our series organiser agreed with me that I had finished as I was on the lap chart which he keeps by hand. So, off we went to the timing chaps, whose initial response was to look on the computer and try to tell me I'd not finished, and that I must have pulled off too early! After explaining that I knew I had finished, another of the timing chaps found that I was also recorded on the lap chart that he had kept by hand. So, we were told that it would be sorted and to come back and check later. About 30 minutes later I went back, and they'd just sorted the results smile I'd been the last car on the final lap, and they must have turned the system off or saved the results or something a bit too early so it missed me out on their first attempt.
