Discussion
Hi Guys n gals
My name is Paul and I have been racing/involved with mazda mx5's for quite some time now.
Earlier this year I built the first mk3 mx5 race car and ran it in the max5 series.
Now back to business....
As many of you will know Max5/ma5da racing have both run a race series in 2009
Max5 have now moved forward for 2010 and will have a championship for the mk3 cars
Please see

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask or contact me on 07770 566599
Regards Paul

Haven't Ma5da Racing also announced a MK3 championship?
Only I suspect there will be more than one MK3 in their "championship".
Yes Ma5da have announced a mk3 series for 2011.....Only I suspect there will be more than one MK3 in their "championship".
MAX5 have a championship for 2010. I personally have built six cars that will be run next year, and are still building more. My car was the first mk3 car to be built and was run on the back of last years series.
Maybe we should have made our intentions clear earlier.....

Puzzled to work out how Max5 has retained championship status with those numbers, but then we haven't heard from the MSA grid size committee for some time now.
Either way I read in Autosport that Max5 are in talks to join the far more populated Ma5da series for next year anyway? I drew the conclusion from the article that the inclusion of MK3's into Ma5da had effectively unplugged the life support system that had kept Max5 going last year.

Yes max5 suffered with numbers last year however thats why things are changing. My car is the one in Autosport mag and unfortunately the editor has interpreted thing in lets say his own way.
Max5 and Ma5da racing have no connection and are not in talks about a merge.
We do however have more drivers signed for 2010 than last year, Along with Tv coverage for 2010
Max5 will also be at the Autosport show with mk3 cars.

In all honestly I think you will find we "Max5" have more mk3 cars ready to race than Ma5da.
Ma5da only want 2.0 cars where as we are trying to keep costs down by buying lightly damaged cars and turning them into race cars. Unfortunately 1.8 cars also get damaged!!!
Therefore we are allowing 1.8 cars to have some engine mods to bring the performance up to that of a standard 2.0 car.
Allowing us to build cars much cheaper.....
A quick question.....
Can Ma5da supply a mk3 race car today??? I dont know.. Maybe someone could answer???
Can Max5 supply a mk3 race car today??? YES.. From stock and will be at Autosport show...
I don't want to get into the politics, Like many of you I just want to race in a friendly environment and will do anything I can to help Max5 and the people who race in it!!!

As Stacy has said why not bring the costs down for everyone and create a better spectacle by joining forces? From what I understand 2 people fell out and 1 of them is no longer involved so what's the problem?

There isn't a problem. Max5 have a championship for 2010 ma5da racing doesn't
