Add a 300 and 800bhp at either end of the range - trying to work out how my 330 will perform. (Nobody say slowly - it wont be funny....)

Good stuff chaps, will get back on this later this afternoon. Have got to do a 640 or 720 version to mimic the factories 0-100-0 runs

Going back to my previous post, anyone like to guess at the drag coefficient, got 0.344 for my TVR Griffith, Ultima must be pretty close ? (down to adding drag for downforce I suppose and that rear wing?) scratchchin

Just found the figure for a "1994 Ford Scorpio 24v Ultima", on the WWW, that's not helping hehe

Mark, if you have the @rpm's for the power/torque numbers, they would help a lot, plus the engines redline.

Would say like a normal modern TVR, hehe.

Hopefully in the 9's to 100mph and low to mid 4's to 60mph, assuming that the gearing would allow 100 to be reached in 3rd.

mine is a g50/03 box, dyno shows peek torque of 387.8, and 328.4 hp. Spyder weighs 1970lb / 850 kg (the ultima specs say. MAX revs of 5800. So what other info do you need? Technical stuff like "it goes really wizzy??

That's great, do you have an idea which one the factory record breaking cars would have, believe they would hit 60 in first and 100 in 2nd (hence not wasting time changing gears for the 0-100-0) ?

Right nerd overload here we go !!

Is your engine really a 600bhp or thereabouts engine as I don't fully understand the US rwhp, are US "hp" as big as European ones? Am sure they are generally bigger than TVR ones anyway hehe

With 305/35 * 18 wheels and the gearing you gave earlier am getting :-

I get gear speeds of 55,80,109,141 and 194 in 5th.
0-60 mph 4.17
0-100 mph 7.85
0-150 mph 16.23

1/4 mile 11.91 secs @ 128 mph using a launch of 4500 revs. It optimised this launch based on filling in the blanks on the dyno graph at low revs, if you have actual numbers for low rpm for the engine it may help.

Changing the final drive to something like 3.1 would give a 200mph top speed.

However, changing the numbers to being at the wheels rather than engine :-

1/4 mile 11.38 secs @ 136 mph.
0-60 mph 3.84
0-100 mph 7.10
0-150 mph 13.78

(These numbers guess the drag coeff at 0.36)
(Oh and coef of static friction 0.8 and coef of kinetic friction 0.75 - these could be increased for the special tyres on a drag strip ! )

Here's another one. This is a run without boost controller activated. With it activated I can lift the powerband in the lower region. You can see how the boost comes on slowly.

eek eek eek bounce (That's one eek per turbo plus an extra one for that many rpm!)

Hello Mikael

Can I ask which gearbox option you have please (hopefully listed previously)? Would be great if its the same as Mark (top of page), as with that much power, you don't want to be wasting time changing gears too much!

I use a four speed 930 box
2.250
1.304
0.892
0.625
Final 4.222

www.kenson.nu/ultima/930T.htm

The "gap" from 1st to 2nd is a bit big so I rev to 9000 in 1st if I'm in a hurry

Hello Paul. Could do with the revs for bhp and torque really. There are wizzy things like engine bog down deceleration rate but I leave them alone hehe

What rear tyre size, have 305/35*18 here ?

I used the 930 box in my Canam and I used to swear by it, as its as strong as they come, perfect gearing for acceleration IMO only let down by the clunky gearchange.

Blimey thats one hell of a power curve.... and all the way to 8000rpm!!!

If I can get my twin turbo V12 to rev that high I'd have a theoretical 300mph 6th!!!!
