The adaptor plates for LS1 so that it uses the same mount brackets as an SBC are more widely available. BRP do the set as there is a growing interest in fitting the LS1 to the "vintage iron bodies". BRP are at www.brphotrods.com

Boosted, my thought was more that you would expand your market considerably if you had done the experiments and were able to produce the results. You would only have to have suitable cats added to any car (your test bed car perhaps) and then get your MOT test centre to test the engine emissions. If you are interested, I may even invest in the cats and necessary work as a joint venture with you!!
Pashby, thanks for the offer. I'm not sure that it's that technical though. Maybe it's just a case of adding a pair of cats from a US catalogue into the exhaust system and then removing them later. Is that what you'de like to explore? I could do that with you.
I think that to pass SVA you have to have the following emissions or better:
Post 1/8/92 Manufacturers published emmissions limits, Or if not listed: CO(idle)0.5%,CO (fast idle)0.3%, HC 200ppm, lambda 0.97-1.03 (all need cats to pass).
