I read a reply that someone knows a copmpany wich makes adaptar plates to fit a Porsche gearbox to a BMW V12
wich company is that..??

I think RV engineering in essex does these adaptor plates, he makes the Nemisis so his number will be in the back of UK kit-car mags.

The V12 route in a mid engine car is one he has done and might be able to provide other goodies such as headers etc...

Ever considered the (Lotus Designed) Chevrolet LT5 V8 as used in the ZR1?
With it's all alloy, quad-cam nature it's pretty light i seem to recall and I also seem to recall Callaway doing a FARKING mean kit for it (up to 750bhp plus?). Also since it bolts up to the same gearbox as the existing Corvette's LS1 V8 I'd imagine that the fittment wouldn't be too much of an issue...... food for thought anyway.

The Corvette LS1 uses a transaxle so if you use the LS1 engine you need a T56 from a Z28. The quad cam LT5 takes a T56 with a slightly different bolt pattern on the bell housing. I think the 2 different bell housings are interchangable though, I hope so because I have some in transit. The LS1 has a central shaft mounted slave cylinder. As far as I am aware the LS1 is lighter then the quad cam and still produces more power/torque across the whole rev range so it's still the better choice and it's a push rod low maintainance engine. Mike.

Sorry Steve

R.V. Dynamics is based in essex england, their number is 01376 570812. not sure if they have a web site.

They have been doing adapter plates for the renualt box for a number of engines inc the BMW but they have been advertising that they are now doing the G50.
They are just down the road from me which is how I found them.

Would love to here how you get on if you go ahead with this installation as its what I really wanted to do, but being green I bottled it

I remember reading about the all alloy, DOHC, 4 valve, Lotus designed LT5 engined ZR1 when it came out. Compared to the regular Vette's iron block, aluminum head L98 (1st gen. SB Chevy), the LT5 (according to the article) was 60 lbs heavier! Twin cam, 4 valve heads are HEAVY.

Why not go for one of those nice BMW engines McLaren fit in the F1. I think you can pick them up for about £200k

I was looking at a Brabus V12 conversion on a Mercedes M Class at the Motor Show a couple of years ago. A very nice reliable 580BHP engine. I asked the sales guy how much the car was. It was £190k, but £130k of that was for the engine

that sounds great but do you mean 200000GBP that is far
over the budged i am looking to spend
my plan is to stay within the 7000 GBP wich will be approx 10000 Euro for the mods

i try to get as much as possible for a tight budget
the pistons will be around 1100 Euro the camshafts around 2500 Euro as they will be custom made
the rest will be done and hope to stay in the 10000 Euro budged

the motormanagement sys will be also 2500 Euro
