Hello on LPG V-8 systems.... very possible & do..able BUT bolting LPG system to a petrol built engine is almost a total waste of time & money. To take full advantage of LPG engine must be built from the ground up.

We are building 2 LPG Chevy 383 engines for UK customers now & as we all know the cost of fuel is well out'a control both sides of the pond... have'n just got back from UK and just recovered from UK gas pump shock....simply insane fuel prices
and the US is quickly following sute.
Anyway we are developing HIGH BHP LPG engines for the future
Joe our LPG guru...has a 572cid BBC on LPG producing 780 BHP
and just built a K-B Kemi 500 cid blown target BHP 1000 +
this bad boy for the El presidenta of Praxair USA....
The LPG engine is starting to catch on again as a good alternitive to petrol.
To take full advantage of LPG engines must me built from the ground up for LPG use.... as LPG has octane of approx 104+
we use compression ratio's of approx 11:1...going any higher then that will produce less BHP .. we've tried and 11:1 is it's sweet spot.
LPG burns much hotter then gas... and the need for nitrate / setlite exhaust seats in heads & forged high end exhaust valves is manditory for long engine life...
Use of forged pistons over cast or hyper pistons is recommeded
use of plasma molly filled rings file fitted for application is manditory.
The ignition system for LPG must also be high output we use high end 63,000 volt coils with Mega-Fire 6AL amps...this insures easy LPG engine start up and improves LPG MPG.
We will be dyno testing LPG engines next week & will post our results...and compare them to similair engines built for gas.

Cheers! Dr,Dee
PS: Nice to see some of P/H members GTR's @ Stoneleigh & meet some of there owners in person.. had a great time!...thanks for the Pints Tony....and Mark & Brian..and great chat'n with you!

Hi everyone! it must be some time now since i first asked that innocent question about LPG conversion...i was disappointed to be laughed at rather than receive any constructive ideas, and to be told to get lost and get a family car!!
Funny how time changes everythingwink
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who really has contributed, refreshing to find some true enthusiasts out there!!
