If you took a moment to actually think about what and how you're posting, perhaps people would took your comments on board and be more objective.
EXACTLY.... Dave has one of the finest custom setups out there, something we are all impressed with. We've been cheering him on and watching with interest for months. He posts about a recent good experience, you chime in and start ripping his work to pieces and at the same time big noting yourself about the "100's" of blowers you've fitted. ....if you are in fact in the high performance motor trade (which would be the only way you'd have fitted "hundreds") its a very strange way to approach the people who read this particular forum. In fact it seems that everytime you come onto the Ultima forum you seem to rub everyone up the wrong way.

just take a step back for a moment and read what you have just posted...
Makes me laugh that you Ultima boy's are all so insular, you seem to be incapable of looking at anything that’s either not ‘factory’ approved or made specially for the Ultima..
As has been quoted above, Rotrex state the preferred option is upstream (as in ahead) of the charger, so there you have it, one of the major manufacturers of such superchargers has in in black and white, but then I guess they must be wrong too?
Yes it will work in either, but I would suggest 6psi (as somebody else has quoted) is going to cause a significant drag on the SC, fine if you don’t case about fuel economy or heating stuff up for the same of it, but hey, it’s an Ultima so it must be the greatest thing since sliced bread….
In summary, FFS get some perspective!

And my supercharged setup is most definately not in an Ultima. Its in a regular old 4 door saloon
My little Vortech can only flow a claimed 1600cfm at its maximum rpm though.....maybe that doesnt compare to a Rotrex ?
Or should I drop my gearing a little ??....it seems to work fine, even if I do overspin it a little and run the incorrect Vortech Mondo BOV

Ummmm...... is this a reference to Dave's car (with a centrifugal blower on a SB)... or mine (with a magnacharged LS2)?Ok Scuffers I'm finally going to bite.... I think its been VERY clearly stated that Dave has actually measured his setup and that there is no notable pressure build there.... seeing as your whole theory about Daves setup being wrong is that the opposite is true, I fail to see who is actually listening and learning here... seems you are more interested in arguing.
There are plenty of us on here working outside the box... but clearly you know much better than anyone else and can't actually comunicate your views even to those that were originally interested in your theory.
I guess its Dave's fault though... should know better than to mention the words 'Dump Valve' when talking about forced induction

You guys have gotten yourselves kind of stuck on this supercharger discussion. Maybe I can help give you all an “Oh yeah!” moment and we can all get back to being friends.
I’m kinda surprised that neither of you has noticed this. Ok, so we are talking supercharging, but Scuffers is talking “Positive Displacement”, good ol’ fashioned Rootes type, pumping measured amounts of air with each engine rotation, just like a pump. CanAm Dave’s is a “Dynamic” style, centrifugal compressor, just a very fancy fan, if you like. The big difference here is that if you restrict the air flow from a Positive Displacement compressor, that compressed air builds pressure and a lot of heat very quickly until something gets busted. You HAVE to have a by-pass circuit. The situation with the Dynamic compressor is completely different. If you stop the air flow through one of these, you get an initial pressure pulse, then the air flow stalls and the pressure drops to next to nothing until the air can regain inertia once the blockage is removed. You get a lot of noise and some heat and boost lag. Two completely different technologies with different solutions to similar problems.
You’re both rite, just talking about different things.
Group hug?
