hopefully someone out there may have an answer to this... today I removed a badge off the back of the Ultima that the previous owner had put on. He had drilled holes in the bodywork to fit the pins in with a "starlock" at the rear. Once removed I cleaned up the holes and filled with the gelcoat. I flatted it back with 600 wet and dry (with some soap) and was horrified to find that there are dark "rings" around the perimeter of all of the holes...what causes this?? I scored around the perimiter of the "now filled holes" to see what the black is, only to find that there isnt any in there...is this some sort of trick of the light?? I was wondering if I need to black out the back of the holes or something confused

thanks Steve, I will try the black paint on the back and see what that does for it.
