Storing cars at Sepang?
Discussion
Guessing this is one for Berw.
Any idea of availability / cost for long term garage storage of a track car at Sepang?
Am going through different ideas for mine, one is to "SORN" it for 2 years in Singapore and use it as a track day car at Sepang for a bit before putting it back on the road again in Singa (perhaps)

Sadly one answer in that ruins my idea ....
I have been wondering what to do with the porker reciently as i probably should not be doing 25,000km a year in it, plus the wife wants to do those 25,000km in something a bit more modern.
Unfortunately i don't have much storage so was thinking of de-registering the porker for 2 years (the maximum before it is struck off and cannot be re-registered) then keeping it at Sepang for the occasional track day.
However sounds like i have to do some sort of Malaysian Import thing.
Might have a look at Pasir Guidang and see if they are more relaxed.

My driveway is available should you need a place to stow the porker. The only payment? The keys. :P
thought that would be the rates Berw, do you need any sort of race licence or at least to have passed some sort of "ability review" before being let loose on a track oin a race at Sepang.
I have plenty of track day experiance, but its a whole different thing when racing against a whole grid ....

thought that would be the rates Except that part of the plan was to take the car off the road (in Singapore) but still be able to drive it ....
to bring this back up to date, have started to form a cunning plan ....
Am thinking, when my COE runs out, to put the car on Classic registration here in singapore (this saves me about $3,000 a year in road tax, $2000 a year in insurance and i don't have to buy another $20k COE)
The catch is that i can only use it for 25 days a year in singapore (officially) but unlimited in Malaysia.
So, after some mods to the car (as it no longer needs to have daily driver comforts) to make it lighter and to give it some more lairyness in the engine, was thinking of renting a secure private garage for it for a few months a year in KL or similar ... (does such a thing exist) then get a modern smoker for the commute to work and to the porker of a weekend ...
Never know, I may even be brave enough to have a go at a few of the HKCC races.
