I am in a similar boat. 65” LG C3 for 1550 thru richer sounds, but can get the same tv for 1350 direct from LG due to work discount. Seems you can get a 5yr warranty for no extra cost direct from LG but I’m not sure how that warranty compare to R/S. any experience / insight appreciated

Slight thread hijack but I need a 32" tv for a bedroom, around the £200 mark.

I guess it's a toss up between Samsung or LG really? Will be hooked up to a Sky Q mini box so guess that 1080 is preferable?

Anything stand out in terms of value etc. or is it more a case of 'much of a muchness' at that price point?

2 HDMI ports needed ideally.

Toshiba, Panasonic, Philips etc.

Up the budget 30% and get a Philips Ambilight if you are placing the TV against a wall.

Watching, I'm after an LG G3 or similar. Seems like the only deals out there are for half price soundbars with the TV.

Lidl have 55 inch LG panels for £299 this week. I think my local one had 1 sitting on the pallet last night, so you might still be lucky. Model number is LG55UP751C according to their Black Friday middle of Lidl mag on the app.

Yeah, I think my thread has been answered as this is BF week and nothing seems to have moved. I think I’m going to splash out and go with the B3 65 and just not mention to the other half what it actually cost…

Just occurred to me as well I’ll have to have it delivered too as I’m pretty sure a TV that big fitting in the boot of an Octavia Estate. It’s big but it’s not the Tardis.

Checked my Amex offers and there's 10% off Marks electrical up to £200... now I'm really itching to get something!

Welp I caved in and bought the Samsung 65in S90C + Q990C bundle from them.
They priced match rgbdirect who were doing it for £2100 and it should end up being £1700 after £200 cashback each from Amex and Samsung. That's cheap enough for me to justify buying before Black Friday itself. Who knows, stock might run out by then! smile

So to give this thread a bit of closure (at least from the OP point of view!) I had a stty day/week/term at work so walked into Richer Sounds and walked out with the LG B3 OLED 65 for £1380.

The RGB deal was good but only had a one year warranty so they only price matched it to that. Plus I felt happier buying from an actual shop in case of a problem.

It’s very big and shiny, the 4K content looks impressive but it has become quickly apparent that the next job is going to be figuring a way to run a cable from the router in the front room to the TV in the back room. I fear this my involve a trip into the attic.

Do they actually work? Especially in near 100 year old houses?

I still have a first generation LG OLED with a curved screen so very nearly 10 years old now.

I am struggling to find a reason to change to be honest. Logic suggests that there have been monumental advances in the TV domain in the last 10 years - 4K, HDR etc.

The thing is, the picture in front of me right now is still exceptional to my eyes with the right feed. Picture quality is important to me and I have been known to immediately switch off a movie if it doesn't look great - I can't remember the last time I watched any SD content for instance.

Should I be looking to change though - what benefit would I see?
