I think an engine turned front would look quite cool.

Lose the pro-esque rack mount handles, and yes it is a bit of a looker, or at least design some that add to rather than detract from the design.

This is the result if you employ a bit of thought into the process - brand name extruded heatsinks included!

That said, I also love the tall look as used by Mark Levinson, but more so the Halcro dm series and Ypsilon Electronics.

Would that be a Sony ST-3000 tuner you've got there? The one that doesn't come with a remote control?

I used to have one, but flogged it on ebay after I bought a little DAB job instead. Could never seem to sort out the FM reception after I moved house.

No - it's a Sony alright but it's the CD player (something-3000).

The pathos is stunning, and quite a beast to boot. Managed to listen and have a play with one when i picked up my XE-1 HD-dvd player from an avforums member. Music through the pathos and some Logan electrostats really was something else.

Current centrefold in my hi fi porno mag is

Doesn;t help that I'm a dribbling Ishiwata fanboy (my current KI-Sig set up has been immense for the 12 years I've had it), but to me it looks just about perfect.

Having heard Rockport speakers many, many moons ago, with their turntable through a raft of Gryphon amplification, I can assure you they have all the looks of a Dalek, but NONE of the sound of one.
Magnificent stuff, which I can only presume has got better since that time.

Technics is probably seen as the Lada of the hifi world, but it isn't just a shiny box like a lot of high end seperates.

I know - One of the boys nearly keeled it over last week and I'm trying to think of some new ideas for layout or units that could be better anyway.

Display the albums or amps?
