^^^^^ FWIW the best sound I ever had in a system was with a McIntosh 275 (with ISTR Gold Lion re-issue KT88s and signal tubes). I only had the one though, as the Quads only have one driver, and don't need Drax levels of power output to make them work.

For me I have a classic Yamaha Pre Power combo

CX1000
MX1000 Runs full Class A upto its full output (most amps switch to Class AB after they get past quarter volume)

Attached to the CX/MX combo I have an RX-A3050 Dolby Atmos/ DTS-X Reciever

CD a late '90's Yamaha CDX993.

Turntable, A heavily modified Technics SL1200 (Rega RB300 arm, Grado Gold Cart, Isonue Isolation feet, and Clamp amongst other tweeks)

Speakers KEF Reference threes, and a REL Stadium Sub itself Modded by BK electronics for two channel stuff

For Surround use I have matching KEF Reference Speakers.

Video Sources include an OPPO 105 and a Panasonic 900 UHD Player..

I always add a sub, never had a system where it didn't benefit.

+1 ...usually a REL as they are very adaptable and easy to integrate pretty seamlessly.

Latest system has a REL T7i.

Rest of it is
Nottingham Analogue Ace Spacedeck + Wave Mechanic PSU / Audio Note Arm One II / Lyra Helikon Cartridge (MC) mounted solidly to the wall on a Decent Audio ODW - Heavy Duty single shelf wall bracket.
Leema Essentials High Resolution Phono Amp
Ecko EV55SE integrated valve amp
Neat Iota speakers on Atacama Nexus 6i speaker stands (hence why the sub comes in handy as they are only small speakers, but very nice sounding - probably to do with the ribbon tweeters).

Also for digital source, a Sonos connect into Audiolab M-DAC Plus

Nice looking turntable - I've just been reading about them as I hadn't heard of them before.

Yes - they went the route of stable rotation speed via a heavy mass platter, and minimal motor input.

There is no on/off switch - the power can be left on all the time and the motor is very low powered. To start it you basically spin the platter by hand to about the correct rotation speed and the motor just has enough power to regulate it and keep it rotating consistently at the correct speed.

Sounds a strange idea but it works remarkably well.

Not on the level of some here but enjoying myself on a budget. Generally streaming FLAC files stored on PC.

Lounge / HT:
Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver
Yamaha NS-555 fronts, NS-444 centre, NS-8390 surrounds, NS-56E rears, YST-SW515 subwoofer.
(For music generally in pure direct mode with just the NS-555).

Living room:
Yamaha NX-N500 (powered bookshelf speakers with networking etc).

Bedroom:
Yamaha RX-797 100w/ch stereo reveiver
Wharfedale Diamond 225
Panasonic ALL1C network streamer

Sometimes I swap in some old Wharfedale Laser 90 or B&W DM600i instead when I feel like a change, which are generally cluttering up the spare room otherwise and I should probably just sell. hehe

A few pairs of headphones too (choices influenced by doing a bit of moonlighting as a sound tech for musician mates) - Sony MDR-7506, Sennheiser HD-380pro, Onkyo ES-HF300.

I'll take some pics at the weekend - here's one of the Raidho's with the Digital F/E in the background (along with some CD storage that could do with a tidy)

Difficult to (succinctly) describe how the speakers sound , but you end up marvelling at the performance of the musician(s), rather than worrying about the performance of the system. I'd go along with the general consensus on Raidho speakers - they uncover the subtleties of musical phrasing like nothing else and, for me, that is what distinguishes the good from the great (both in terms of musicians and HiFi equipment!).

OK, here goes...

Home built Intel i5 NUC / Roon ROCK + DSP --> Air / wired ethernet --> Devialet D400 Amps

Wilson Benesch Vectors (+ Devialet SAM)

I have a 'difficult' room so lots of bass traps and a convolution filter running in Roon make it all hang together.

The Azur 752BD is used occasionally for any disc playback (and can be used for ripping SACDs). There are also many LPs + Gyrodec / SME309 / Dynavector XX-2 to be set up for ripping once I find the time.

no pics at the mo - just moved house, so its not actually plumbed in yet
Rega RP1
MacBook Pro
Fully Active Linn Isobariks
Powered by 12 x Rotel Power amps
Pre is my own (6 channel ) design - with remote control
Active crossover (again, my own design )
full RTA (based on digital circuitry of DEQ2496, but with my own design analogue & PSU stages)
Own design sub & 1KW PA (12" ported) to cover 35Hz to 20Hz (takes a bit of strain off of the Isobariks)

When the kids will let me I'll finally get around to wiring it all up.
there is a LOT of cable to run !

What do you think of the 3020's? I've been thinking of down sizing from my floor standing kefs which I've had for 30 years. I want something that sounds good but in a smaller package.
