fkers, just found out they charged the OH 130 quid in total for something that should have been 49 quid. Chances of refund?
Even though they are advertising the price of £49, that only applies if you also sign up for multi-room at £120 a year..I really can't see how that kind of advertising is legal.

Under 'interactive' somewhere is the option to order SkyHD - roll on friday smile
OOh, ta for that!

1st attempt just failed as i didn't have a phone line plugged in. The box now is not registering the fact that i have now plugged it in..

I have powered down the box for a minute with the phone line connected and it still thinks there is no phone line..
On the plus side, it comes up with a special phone number to call if you don't have a phone line connected.
Unfortunately though, that phone number is out of service.

I don't think they want me to upgrade.
No worries - did you get it working..?

I too have it unplugged most of the time, I just plugged it into the phone line and pressed "Buy HD Now" - worked a treat - bit slow but expected given connection.

I have now registered online. The problem was that if I used my bank account details for verification they could not find my account or it timed out immediately, when i used the viewing card number instead, it worked.

I would love to get Sky HD but I cant get my head around spending £70 a month for TV for all the channels I would want. Do you still have to pay extra for the premium games like Man U Chelsea etc....?
Nope PremPlus was scrapped a few years ago.

Now my satellite box has now developed a fault. It has been fine for two years and the day i plug the phone line and pre-register for HD it breaks down. I am not surprised people are paranoid about SKY sending signals to cause problems with boxes!

I have just received an e-mail from Sky letting me know how long it will be before they can install my HD box, 4 months time! Someone must be busy!

Just call them up, you'll be able to get a closer date.

I've been looking at this..

currently got sky+ with the 6 basic packages at about £22 and movies for an extra £10 - the deal was either £10 for movies or £10 for sky+

so on a package now of £32 ish, am i right in thinking regardless it's an extra £9.75?

so.. as i've watched 2 movies in 3 years, can i now cancel the movies, have the 6 basic packages that i do watch and have HD and recording functions?

Yup. I have a HD box and pay £28 a month for HD channels, plus the basic package, and have recording functions. Obviously, if you go that route you won't be able to watch either the Sky Sports HD channels, or the Sky Movies HD channels, but that still leaves a dozen or so other HD channels to watch.

I have booked the install for this friday smile

As i was going through the set-up thing on line i decided to 'play with my package' a bit. And see what i could do with the monthly price. All it allows you to do is ADD channels, you can not remove any!

I booked my upgrade a few weeks back at the £99 + £60 install price, I called them up on Friday as it was being installed that day and complained. They initially told me that it was tough so I told them to cancel my contract, they then came back and said they would do the upgrade all in for £79 and would refund the difference to me!

Job done, all installed on the day as expected and quality is absolutely amazing with my Kuro 50" plasma - now the old SD channels look not so good in comparison.......

I think the incoming wires are all the same, two digital lines, phone and power - however the box will be shipping it's picture out across HDMI, so you'd need to consider that I suppose

So there's a definate difference then? I'm wondering if I'll be constantly switching between SD and HD to highlight the difference?

From what i understand, you'll just watch SD channels as little as possible,
