Nice set up Streetrod. smile I was going to buy some of the older NAD master gear myself, it just happened that the Arcam stuff I now use turned up at a great price used. Maybe I should ask (since I'm really happy with my electronics) but what upgrades are you planing?

I have a Beamax screen too 2.35:1 aspect tab tensioned 9.5' wide...still perfectly flat after 4 years, shame that they went bust. frown

Unlikely to be the "best on PH", but it works well for me.

Having not touched the system for about 12 years, I got into streaming last Christmas & in the last few months I've moved from a Naim/Dynaudio setup to a mostly ATC system:

Squeezebox Touch or Naim CD3.5 => ATC SIA2-150 => ATC SCM40

Think you are talking about the wrong sort of horn. No colouration from the Avantgarde horns

Heres where i'm up to. Its taken me a few years to get to this point and i'm a dealer as well so get to hear a hell of a lot of gear. This is a sound i really love which really suits my musical tastes too. Not much of the system can be upgraded any further, its all about exploring more and more music.

TW Acustic Raven AC
Reed 3p 10.5 Cocobolla
Allnic Puritas
Rega Isis Valve
Allnic H3000V
Conrad Johnson GAT
Conrad Johnson Premier 350
Avalon Ascendant
Cardas interconnets
Pro Bono Audio racks/isolation plaftorm
Running Springs Elgar
Mogami cable
Gik Acoustics room treatments

But with the new preamp:

I bet that sounds wonderful - congrats.

It would be my dream to deal in hi-fi, and have the opportunity to listen to so much equipment in my own environment, I'm sure my perfect system is out there somewhere, I'l just never have the time (or budget!) to find it.

Jackal, that system is utter filth.

Its very rare that I covet my neighbours ox, but consider me green-eyed.

I use a Ruby Hill on my pre and it's a wonderful mains lead.

jackal, I don't know much about hifi at all... very little in fact, but without even hearing your set-up I just had a "crisis".

LOL, thanks for all the comments guys. If anyone needs help then give me a shout, I am the sole UK retailer of Allnic products and what they can bring to a system beggars belief so if yu ever fancy a home demo you know who to call.

I have to move house very soon which isn't going to be pleasant. The turntable alone weights over 50kg. Better have my Chiropracter on standby !

I have neither the ear, money nor interest to be an audiophile but your stuff is absolutely beautiful. If I was wealthy I would buy it on aesthetics alone and sit and stare at it all day without it playing anything. Good work

Incidentally, Im amazed at some of the stereo cost versus house price ratio on here (similar to the social measurer TV size versus lounge sized ratio)

Yeah i would say the same..lots of 'huge' speakers in too small rooms with not enough space around them to work properly without huge bass problems..and so many big rear ported speakers parked against walls..spend what you like but they will sound dreadful imo..andf ive tried a lot irrespective of cost.

Probably true.Actually wasnt targetting you but seems like you took it as so..i wonder why...no way that gear will sound right in that space imo.

Really? I have some of their power leads in my other system. Nice neutral, not unlike Cardas. Have you tried any of the Siltech stuff?
No i havent actually but the Audience power conditioner i added by far the biggest up grade ive had over last 30 years of pissing about with Hifi!..
