I don't really care much for 'TV', but agree it's essential for Blu-Ray & gaming.

Johnny bought the 'film' Baraka, it even kept the kids quiet & fixated, & it doesn't even have a plot or any dialogue. Just pretty pictures. Once you've seen that you'll be coverted.

Aren't Sony doing a trade-in on old tellyboxes at the moment..? Now is the time... hehe
Yes, because 2 50" top spec HD 1080 plasmas is just what we need in order to keep my boys happy with your Wiis & PS3s... wink

(I'll be polishing my car)

Just bough a 47" TV as I've quite a big lounge and the 32" CRT was doing my head in. My poor old 32" is sitting in the garage now unloved and making me feel a bit guilty as it was working fine.

I've got to agree that the technology is moving really fast what with 3D TV comming out next year

and Super Hi Vision looming

but with this type of technology you'll never find anything that's future proof, so I thought fk it and took the "big council tele" plunge and don't regret it, (apart from when I'm in the garage)biggrin

SuperHD!

rofl

Will your licence fee cover an eye upgrade as well? Most people sit too far from the screen to get any benefit from 1080p whatsoever, let alone resolutions higher than that.

Indeed, your HD's as good as your last visit to the opticians

I saw one of hose 3D TV's in Abu Dhabi mall. It was pretty friggin cool. You have to sit at certain degrees, otherwise if fecks up the image, but superb all the same.

Got 4 tellys now.

Samsung LED/LCD 55" 7 Series in the lounge - made the move larger as the room is bigger and wanted full HD.

40" Sony V Series in the study - was in the old lounge

32" Samsung in the gym room & a 32" Phillips in the main bedroom.

Originaly went flat screen as the old CRT was too small for the room it was in.
