Small speakers for tv viewing
Discussion
Had an amp kicking around so decided to fill the space under the tv up with it and a pair of mordaunt short speakers. They're too big.. Both in look and sound.
Notice Richard sounds have warfedale diamond 9s at £50. Might be better suited.
Any recommendations for even smaller units that pack a punch?

Might be worth looking at what PC speakers you can find in PC World or similar. I have a pair of desktop speakers with a small sub connected to my TV, they work through the headphones jack. In the past I had a larger set of speakers with amp and sub attached, those were also from a PC and again worked through the headphones jack.
PC speakers come in all sorts of designs and sizes compared to what the dedicated TV offerings have, so check out what you can find with that lot as an alternative.

I have a set of 5.1 Aegos for my computer room and they are superb, plenty of punch packed, they do a stereo set too.

I've had a set of Bose Companion 3 speakers for over 10 yrs that were originally bought for a desktop PC, but spent more time attached to a second TV.
They've been used in the living room both times we have moved, before setting up a full 5.1 system, and for the size of them they even sound good in a big room. The only issue issue with a desktop system though is no remote..

Set them up today, only had a few mins to listen to them, but impressed. They're not big, but sound good.. decent punch & bass.
Therer's a pair of phono inputs, one of which has a treble boost for some reason - didnt realise this before buying. It's not massive but if it gets in the way, there's a simple enough DIY fix by removing a couple of components from the board.
So, bye bye big amp & speakers
