Panasonic fault and John Lewis repair

I have a panasonic 42" tv that I bought from JL 4 years and 11 months ago 
Recently a green vertical line appeared, it also disappeared too and reappeared and then disappeared.
Anyway the service guys said they will fix it for me but I am hesitant as it's an fault which can't be checked immediately to see if the service centre actually did fix it or not. My concern is they do nothing and after the 5 year warranty expires the fault reappears.
Anyway, will have to just wait and see what happens.
